It appears so, I tried placing a TLG and Decool helmet on them and it fits perfectly. It seems the new SY helmet mold for some reason isn't long enough leaving the neck exposed.

Basically, all the Mandarin has to do is show up with a makeshift toothbrush shank and Tony is done for.

I must admit... With regards to the quality of bootleg figures over the last 6 months there's basically only been Red Tornado that has been top notch with regards to super hero figures. GL Batman from DLP was close but needed a genuine head, cowl and legs to bring it up close to TLG level.

If I look back at some of the stuff we've had in the past there's been some great items. The torn brown leather jacket from SY for Captain America is perfect in design and print and no customiser has come close to it (or needs to).

Some of the Lego copies continue to be good and recent SW figures from even Xinh and Dargo are largely excellent but I'd love them to give us something new.

This thread started because of Decool's FF figures as they were such a popular and different option (no customiser had pad printed them at that point). I suppose I'm just a little disappointed that the quality or diversity hasn't really moved on like I hoped it would. Maybe that's because brands such as SY have gone on to clone many Lego ranges such as Ninjago and Chima to the Nth degree and also got fixated on mechs etc.

S brand gave us the Falcon Commandos around a year ago... Arguably the best printed figures I've ever seen (except for the head designs) but very little since.

It's great when the bootleggers kick into gear and this thread sparks to life as you never know what'll get released as anything is possible and I look out for a torso or accessory that'd be usable on a TLG quality custom and I'd just like those moments to happen a little more often as opposed to a poor Antman clone.

It certainly is... but I think that goes to show how many missed opportunities there have been since that point. Brickforge did a Super Soldier pack which had the helmet and shield... simply adding that bootleg torso and a pair of dark tan pants gave us a perfect first mission Captain America.

Since then we've had many MANY iffy Wolverines and Spiderman. When I think about it I realise that they're just going for the lowest common denominator most of the time but there have been moments of genius along the way. I just wish they had a few more of them.

Most of us probably remember that DLP (Duo Le Pin) has the fat arms from the old SY releases, right? Well the Star Wars set I just bought from them (the one with Palpatine and glow in the dark Super Battle Droids DLP9018) now has the new slim arms from SY as well. Just a heads up for those who didn't notice.

I think whenever the helmet is on a black head piece should be used. Otherwise it looks really odd. This problem has existed to any sy minifigs with helmet for a long time.

So using my chrome browser, I just saved the entire webpage. Now I've got the instructions all on a single page which I reference off-line and can scroll down one page during the build, if and when I ever get my X-wing.

That's a really good call. I was actually thinking about painting the necks, but this would be a much cleaner solutions... though I don't know if I have than many black head pieces...

it don't looks bad but it don't look as good as SY bricks, some of them are scratched, edges are sharp etc.

MDM is right. I made both Weapon X and Namor customs using the WWE set. I used John Cena's torso for Wolverine (dog tags are perfect) and Triple H's torso for Namor.

I never tried that myself but I think you can remove paint with some denatured alcohol on a Q-tip
