But as long as they are still in business, and still producing products, there's a chance they'll go back to super heroes at some point. From what I understand, a lot of these Chinese manufacturers get a "Cease and Desist" order due to potential copyright issues... and they basically lay low for a while, hope that any legal issues disappear and then go back into production a few months later (sometimes under a new brand name). If one of them had to go I'd rather it was Decool. I'm not sure they've ever made a figure that wasn't directly copied from someone else and they've been second best for a long time... To me at least. While it's sad to see Decool go (if true), if it's due to a C&D order -- that's very bad news indeed for every maker: SY, LELE, Dargo, etc, etc.
Robianco Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Yeah...as much as I look forward to SY releases over all others some of my customs rely on Decool parts such as the SDCC heads. Robianco Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Yeah... I'm really happy with the figures I'm buying the sets for... Jean, Doom 2099, DOFP Magneto and the Thor Helmet. Strange is a nice alternative to MRM's figure but I'll be using a Nizam head and brasso'ing the bottom part of the goatee.

Talk of the NYCC got me thinking again about Decool and SY and the fact that Decool really were the driver behind us getting those figs affordably. SY have, over time, given upgraded versions but the Decool double sided heads have been invaluable... And from what I've seen the DLP figures have single sided heads too... Which is a shame. On a side note... Are there any other members that don't use AE that would like anything added to an order that I'll be making on Monday. I know KCMatze wants the set with SDCC Bats but if there are any others people want something then pm me. Postage will be charged from the UK... Sorry but I can't offer the same free shipping that the AE sellers do! ;)

You would have thought seeing as Digger has reviewed them that they would be available - other sets are on aliexpress for presale!! Its all very frustrating. Its all renders on the pics, but I am interested to know if its any good (not holding much hope having seen other Dargo sets!) well it is very confussing. some chinese website claim that set is "transparent" where other sites don't give any info just the 3D render. i guess we will have to wait. rhmkun Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 There was someone in an FB group who stated in the China forums that SY has changed it's name, though still Sheng Yuan, but with different characters. They also changed their logo then. Upcoming set from Sheng Yuan as shown at 27th Guangzhou Toy Fair. They have a name change from Sheng Yuan (森业）to（森宝）. They are getting creative, coming with their own Castle and Tribe series. As usual, they borrow characters and designs from different Lego series. I like their design on the Tribe set. These set would pose a serious challenge to Enlighten brand Kingdom series, especially with Sheng Yuan more colourful designs and top notch minifigures. I also noticed, ever since they changed their logo, no superheroes have been made as well..... Dark clouds ahead my friends.....

The Chinese toy fair images showed some SY Superheroes sets along with the Tribes sets. There are a lot of new SY waves either just being released or about to come out too... If SY have rebranded and are pursuing a more legitimate range of themes then the Duo brand may well just become their sub brand for Superheroes. I'm sure in a couple of months we'll have a clearer picture of how SY, Duo, Decool, KSZ etc are focusing their ranges. I also really like the look of that camo military range... I found those Minifigures don't have thick shoulder anymore.(Maybe Starwars wave4 too http://mybrickstore....sheng-yuan.html) I think SY completely changed factory yet.
