wilson3a10 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 One thing I like here in Korea. There is a toy street where a few shops bring in full bunches of the SY stuff. Some sell them in sets. But a few actually break them up and sell them individually. makes it nice. Dongdaemun?
Borex Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Wow, finally a ghost rider that might actually be quite good! Just need a nice bike for him to ride on. Yeah i want that ghostrider too. I still don't have a proper outfit for him. Too bad spiderman didnt came with a scooter. It would represent him being a student and low on dough better.
crossmr Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Dongdaemun? Near that area there is a toy street, which is a couple blocks long and full of little shops that sell various things. Lego is of course popular, mostly chinese and Korean lego. There is one shop that sells official lego, but no real discounts on it.
Kevin Hyatt Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 That Ghost Rider looks awesome. I hope they put him in a set of figures.
The Lego Nolan Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Does anybody have a picture of the back of the Igor suit?
crossmr Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Has anyone here ever had an issue with an SY set? I've gotten a few and never had an issue until now. I just picked up SY263 (city series) and one of the figures when I opened the box, the bag had a hole in the middle. Some parts had leaked out, but the box was sealed (and it was in a sealed bag), but the torso piece was missing. I'm going to back to the shop tomorrow, not sure if they'll do anything.
ChrisW Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Thanks for the feedback on those Dinos. Might give them a miss for now until if or when something better comes along. I almost wish a bootleg company would remake those Lego Dinosaurs like the Mosasaurus, Brachiosuarus etc . On another note, who do people go through on eBay nowadays to buy individual figures? PM if necessary please. The seller I usually buy individual figures off looks like he/they no longer offer them. Would be great to get the Ghost Rider set without having to also purchase the others!

Yea i saw one big shop with cockloft selling real lego but really no discounts at all. Besides that street, where do you usually buy lego or other bootlegs?
BigPoppaBrick Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Got the Dargo Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow figures today, mainly because I used to love GI Joe and also to see what quality they are. So....Snake Eyes not bad - decent printing, pretty solid. Not too bad at all. Storm Shadow is awful though, printing really blurry and connections are a lot looser than Snake Eyes. I'm hoping the mass of Upcoming figures are a step up.
crossmr Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Yea i saw one big shop with cockloft selling real lego but really no discounts at all. Besides that street, where do you usually buy lego or other bootlegs? That street is the best place for bootlegs. They have the best prices and selection. You can sometimes get some stuff on gmarket, but the price is much higher. If you come out of exit 4 of the subway station and walk in, all the good shops are on the left, you'll see some shops that have some SY sets out front, those will usually have various bootlegs in them, and there is a shop right now that is having a massive Oxford sale. I've cleaned up there, found some really hard to find sets. If you walk down that street, part way down, before the shop that's got the giant Lego sign on it, you'll see a shop on the left that has like yellow discount stickers all over their stuff. That place has some Oxford in the front, and if you go in the back there is a shelf full of Oxford stuff. If you dig around you can find some rare stuff. Stuff you can't buy anymore. I scored a post office, bank, bus/taxi, and convenience store for my kid there. They also have a sale on the 2 in 1 change sports car which is pretty nice. Those all had good discounts. That Lego shop is like a legit shop. No under the table stuff at all. But all the other shops you can get it. There is one shop that has a bunch of Enlighten stuff out front. They have some of the new enlighten sets which are well designed but have minor clutch issues. Also if you keep walking past the Lego shop, you will see a few new shops on the left that have some bootlegs. Sometimes you seem some random bootlegs in little kids toy shops that you see around elementary schools and stuff, but their selection is pretty limited. The boot legs change often, so Every couple weeks its worth it to go up and take a walk down the street for about an hour to see what new stuff they got in. usually doesn't take much more than 45 minutes to do a run through, even with some browsing. There are about half a dozen shops that are worth looking at I find. I think this is the shop that has the Oxford right now. Or right around there. They change their stuff out front a lot.
jeduh Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Any Singaporeans here? If so where do you guys usually get your bootlegs? I get mine through a taobao agent
dirk Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Just wondering if anyone else is noticing that Aliexpress orders seem to take a lot longer now. When I buy minifigures from ebay china selllers (like super.czp or rosechen85), they ship out right away and i get them within 2 to 3 weeks. But, if I buy minifigs from AE, they don't ship until like a week later and then it takes another 4 to 5 weeks after that before I receive them, if I get them at all. Arghhh, sorry just venting.

It's not just you, had similar delays myself. Though to be fair, I knew in advance with many AliExpress orders that the figures hadn't been made yet, wereas when I've ordered from ebay sellers (including rosechen) I think they have only been selling whats physically on hand - they more frequently have actual photos of the figures rather than the renders that seem to be on most Ali item pages.
fred67 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) I ordered my Walking Dead figures from AliExpress on July 7; I got them yesterday, so right around just over 2 weeks total time from order to arrival. EDIT: BTW, I have some organizing to do, but will try to get pictures today to post. Edited July 24, 2015 by fred67
dirk Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Sorry guys, this is a restricted movie, No miners allowed! Sheng Yuan SY263 miner minifigs.

I gave up on Aliexpress sellers and worrying about whether they are listing pre-orders or not. I prefer the Ebayers that I've dealt with before. They sell stuff that is on hand, and I know they are reliable.
fred67 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) So, OK, it's not Superheroes, but there was some interest in seeing the Walking Dead figures from JX. First of all, it's an incredible bargain; for just over $20 including shipping, there are 15 regular figures and 10 zombies, if you count Michonne's two "pets" as two (and why wouldn't you?). First of all, I was not hoping for much... from the pictures, especially Rick (which I thought was Carl at first glance, since Rick gave the hat to Carl fairly early on). But I'm actually mightily impressed overall. Some pictures: DSCF2364 by Fred Haab, on Flickr So... Rick's gun is not a revolver, but that's easily taken care of; EVERY figure has back printing: DSCF2365 by Fred Haab, on Flickr Often it's just creases from shirts and jackets, but a lot of them have nice details like Daryl's jacket. The real highlight here is Daryl's crossbow: DSCF2359 by Fred Haab, on Flickr I'm actually not sure how to attach that little bottom clip part; not sure where it goes, but this is a very detailed accessory, it looks amazing. The whole cast (I haven't assembled zombies yet): DSCF2377 by Fred Haab, on Flickr So, most of the figures are easy to tell... but I do have some problems figuring them all out. The back row: Daryl, Michonne, Rick, Lori, Carol The middle row: Tyrese, Bob, Abraham, Eugene, Andrea The front row: The Governor, Maggie, Glenn, I don't know, I don't know. I'm not really certain about the ones in red, but I'm pretty sure about them except those last two. The Good: the figures are actually better quality than I thought they'd be; the printing wasn't bad at all, and I was pleasantly surprised by back printing. The abundance of figures is amazing for the price, and a lot of the major characters are instantly recognizable. I think it's pretty cool that you get the extra pieces (some of which I have not seen in LEGO before), including an extra zombie head with each figure and an ax; a few extra bits and pieces to display the head on. I think they may actually be clones of Megabloks bricks. The Bad: Andrea was missing her left arm. It's the only piece missing in the whole bunch. There's a hairpiece that I think is pretty terrible, and they used it several times in the series (the one with the gray hair in the front row has it). Some of the weaponry really doesn't match, but I don't think it's too bad. What I would guess are the first two series have extra large plates to stand on; the last series has a different size plate. The Ugly: The black characters are dark red, not brown. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. The Funny: some of the figures came with legs attached, but none of them with arms attached. Some had hips attached, but no legs, and some had neither. For some reason I found the inconsistency funny. The best, though, is that while every "human" comes with an extra ax and a zombie head, every zombie comes with a "human" head (but with zombie face printing). Overall I'm really impressed. fred67 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I was thinking it could be Shane, but there's nothing that screams "Shane" about it; the last one being Merle? That just really doesn't even work for me... the gray hair with the pseudo widows peak? I'd never have called that one Merle. Maybe if it had a hook instead of a hand, but even then I'd say the hair is wrong.
BigPoppaBrick Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Yeah it's supposed to be Merle. I agree a hook would have been a good option. I be got the first two sets, didn't bother with the 3rd as it looks a tad crappy from the pics.
JVM Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 My dinosaurs arrived yesterday. They are not the quality that I am used to with the current bootlegs. These feel a bit tacky and have a lot of sharp spikes elements that need some sanding.. Did you order the LELE 4-Pack or the 6-Pack?
