Stan-Lee Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Well I've got several pad printed Marvel Custom figures that I've had on eBay that I'm selling for less than online retail stores if you're interested from customisers such as NACM, Muddy River, Phoenix Customs and Christo. Yes i am could you send a link etc.?
Adnan Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Digger has reviewed the Arrow decool set if you wanna take a closer look
superspurs18 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Saying you have something in stock does not necessarily mean that you have it in stock. People do tell lies to get money. Just saying. Not implying that the particular seller is a liar by the way, but more a heads up to all of the eager bootlegcollectors that can't wait a few weeks to make an order ;-) By the way, with the Avengers game in sight, there will be new designs and new characters. Hopefully brands like sy (or decool) will be inspired to bring us new characters. I'm looking at you Fing Fang Foom :-) thats true, but this seller has been quite honest (to me at least) in the past with regards to lengthy waits so ill take him at his word - the fact that he has told two people different dates and that he is the only seller with this set on AE however does't bode very well....however its a no lose gamble with AE. i've always wondered how they could charge £50 for just an Avengers lego game, ive assumed would be based solely on the two Avengers film - is that right?
Robianco Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Yes i am could you send a link etc.? Until you have 10 posts you can't use the messaging system and I'm not sure I can post a link to my store in this thread.
jonwil Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I dont get why people are perfectly fine with companies profiting off products that blatantly violate the copyright of companies like LEGO, Disney, Warner Bros, Universal, DC Comics, Marvel, Lucas, Nickelodeon and others... It doesn't matter if its not something LEGO themselves have produced, its still a violation of copyrights and IP belonging to the owners of whatever character these bootleggers have ripped off. Buying bootleg LEGO is no different to buying a fake Rolex watch or a fake Gucci bag or fake Callaway golf clubs.
wickedlemon Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I dont get why people are perfectly fine with companies profiting off products that blatantly violate the copyright of companies like LEGO, Disney, Warner Bros, Universal, DC Comics, Marvel, Lucas, Nickelodeon and others... You've answered yourself to some extent. What do Rolex and Gucci have in common? They are overpriced, premium products sold to people with more money than sense. Lego, in the toy market, have set themselves up as a premium brand. Their profits and profit margins are higher than any other toy company. They realise that chasing affluent middle-aged men as collectors is more profitable than just creating toys for children. As a parent I can't afford to pay £100 for a Lego set because it's the only way to get one exclusive figure my son would like. It's a shame people don't frown upon corporate greed half as much as they do copyright infringement and IP theft.
Robianco Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I'd probably ask why Lego continues to allow online stores that produce MANY minifigures that break IP laws to continue when they're based in the US and other areas that they have significantly more power in than China. They exist... and Lego let them... and people make a profit out of it. Some people I'm sure make a LOT of profit out of it based on the amount of sales and the prices involved. If Lego let them happen then it can't be bothering them that much... and if it doesn't bother Lego that much then why would it bother people who buy Lego? You could say that the production of minifigures that aren't produced by Lego act to compliment their existing 'official' product and brand and therefore they let it happen... especially those that print on official Lego pieces. But that's got nothing to do with breaking IP laws... that's up to Marvel or DC... neither of them do a great deal to stop it. I won't say they do nothing as I know they've spoken to some customisers to remove certain products from circulation or warn against the production of some... yet there's still US based sellers on a certain Auction site that sell hundreds of figures a year... and have sold thousands previously. There is no difference however people want to look at it. And I'll also ask whether anyone has ever borrow a CD or tape or record or DVD from a friend to listen to or watch? If people say no then they're lying... but by doing so they've broken the law... but it seems such a minor one that it's OK. Somehow morally people can distance that from buying a custom minifigure that's printed on Lego... which somehow is different from someone buying a minifigure that's not produced on official Lego pieces... which is also apparently different from buying Lego accessories from customisers that also aren't made from official Lego ABS but may be produced in the US or Europe etc. If anything the continued activity in a thread hosted on a Lego forum which is over 200 pages long says that there's an audience that are interested in them... mostly I'd say for those unique and unavailable officially. An audience that I'm sure spends a great deal of money, or at least that which they can afford, on genuine Lego too. I'm sure people will continue to pop into the thread to ask the same question or give the same moral stance over and over again... but until Lego ask EB to remove any mention of such things then it'll probably continue... but then I'm assuming that Lego would then also vigorously look to close down the many many customisers out there who not only produce unique figures but also copy official Lego designs and Marvel/DC/Disney owned property in the same way.

The new LEGO Avengers game cover both Avengers movies, both Captain America movies, Thor: Dark World, Iron Man 3, and I have heard from a couple different places that there will be some Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter content in there, as well.

adalric Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 that actually sounds really good i might buy :D thanks I haven't played a LEGO game that isn't a lot of fun. (Although some of the flight and racing mechanics in the first Marvel game weren't great.) Even though I already have the SY/Decool Silver Centurion, I'm pre-ordering to get the official version.

I always sell the game on but as I'm no longer collecting Marvel I won't need to with this one. There's usually a UK distributor that handles the giveaways here.
agoodfella77 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Yeah and not to mention over 100 playable characters According to this article, could be over 250 playable characters!! Man, I thought I had nearly exhausted MOC possibilities, I haven't even scratched the surface it seems! http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/10/11/nycc-15-lego-marvels-avengers-may-have-250-playable-characters-but-daredevil-wont-be-one-of-them/
joelyface Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) I came across someone selling SY Ghost Rider individually, I remember some people were asking about that in the past... gotta say I love all these single sales that are happening now. Would much rather purchase singles at a slightly higher rate, than 8 minifigs where I only want 3 of them. http://www.aliexpres...archweb201560_4 Also Deathstroke from the new line is already available as single, so you can skip all the arrow characters... http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Single-Sale-Deathstroke-Slade-Wilson-DC-Villain-Minifigures-Building-Block-Model-Toys-DIY-Assemble-Figure-Children/32492183527.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.20.benAyP&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_7,searchweb201527_4_71_72_73_74_75,searchweb201560_4 Edited October 15, 2015 by joelyface

agoodfella77 Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The Brick Show put up this great video about bootleg minifigs. https://www.youtube....h?v=K2AmuqwECUw Interesting. I was curious at 4:23 of the video in the bottom left hand corner you see a white figure with the venom like white arms -- which set is that figure from, anyone know?
wickedlemon Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Interesting. I was curious at 4:23 of the video in the bottom left hand corner you see a white figure with the venom like white arms -- which set is that figure from, anyone know? The SY188 Future Foundation Spider-man has those bits. That's a cool video. I didn't see Lego signs on any of those stalls and they managed to interview just one guy who nailed it. I wish I knew where the Brick Show bought their fakes for 10 cents. What it missed in facts it made up for with rabid AFOL enthusiasm.
Borex Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Wow, those people are making serious money if they are selling figs for 5 bucks. Those prices are insane! 4,25$ profit per fig at least i guess. I think the level of awareness of bootleg figs should be much higher.
