agoodfella77 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) Hey guys, I am the guy who had that helmet. I said on my flickr that I did add sculpting to it, and the reason why I took down the photo was because I am making a custom body for it and while I was on mobile I accidentally deleted the pic instead of "modifying" it. I did not know deleting a photo would result in this hostile discussion. Sorry if this confused anyone and thanks for your understanding. BTW the figure from the OK brand is only a render. I saw the pics and the helmet looks nothing like the render, which is where I got inspired to make it more accurate to this rendering. My apologies, and once again, thanks for your understanding. I can vouch for Wade1Wilson. The helmet posted earlier clearly looked like it was custom molded. In his description he detailed how he created a custom mold for it and he never claimed that he hand sculpted the thing 100%. Edited October 31, 2015 by agoodfella77
Nickcastle101 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I used to custom mold hulks as well and I never put anything in the oven. The pieces look exactly the same. Same nose for whatever reason it has a nose. Same tall head, same chin, same side mouth things. I saved a picture of his post if you really want me to post a comparison picture. Just because he can describe a way to mold something which to me sounds completely wrong doesn't mean he did it, I know he is lieing and I would love to post the images to prove it so just say the word His custom molding process was also a lie I don't like it when people take credit for others work, so just tell me when I should post the comparison images

I could never convince you as it seems you are pretty stuck in your ways. As I mentioned earlier, I did not start with a ball of clay and came up with that. I simply nodded the original helmet to give it more details. I saw a video online of casting and I would like to try it myself. I do respect your work Nick Castle, but every time I read one of your comments on someone's photo you are always looking to complain about something. You are entitled to your opinion but I will only tell you the facts, and all you can do is either listen or not listen.
Nickcastle101 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) Do you really want me to prove that you're lieing about this? I only comment like this when I know that a person is lieing, which sickens me Edited October 31, 2015 by Nickcastle101
Nickcastle101 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Well I am going to anyway, here is my analysis
Wade1Wilson Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I can't stop you from doING anything online. Post anything you want. You enjoy yourself with that.
Nickcastle101 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I just proved that it's the Chinese piece and not your own sculpted piece
Wade1Wilson Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I am pretty confident I have said multiple times that it is not my own piece. I edited a piece.
agoodfella77 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Hello folks, why don't we get back to discussing Bootlegs now, shall we :) Thanks!
Nickcastle101 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 No you didn't Yes, more bootleg discussion
pmptstc1 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Can you guys take this argument elsewhere? I don't think anyone on this thread really cares if he made that mold or not. More on topic, does anyone know of an AE seller that is willing to sell DLP figures separately? I really just want That Batman Beyond figure from the new set.
Wade1Wilson Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) Sorry about that, I am sure we have both gotten over that. Anyway, I still don't know why you guy buy bootleg off of AE. I ordered the 8 spiderman in June and I still don't have it. EBAY is the way to go! Edited October 31, 2015 by Wade1Wilson

I ordered the 8 spiderman in June and I still don't have it. EBAY is the way to go! I've only ever had one shipment not show up in 20- plus orders, and I got a full refund. The sellers are great about replacing defective figures, as well. It does take longer than eBay (2-6 weeks, but usually right about 3 for me in the US). It if worth the wait though, because it is usually way cheaper than what you can find on eBay, and they have a better selection. The main thing you have to watch out for is seller posting unreleased sets and not listing then as pre-sale. You should give ARE another shot. I can give you the names of a couple trusted sellers if you want.
Wade1Wilson Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Yea, aliexpress is ridiculously cheaper. I live in the USA so I am used to the shipping but, the not listing as presley is ridiculous. Who knows maybe I should not let one bad experience carve the rest of my experience.
MDM Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) I've placed more than 130 orders on aliexpress (figures for me and friends)... Just two never arrived and got refunds. Edited October 31, 2015 by MDM
Krikkit Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Yes, that is Artemis. I need to check the legs on mine, I don't recall them being printed on.

KlodsBrik Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) I know its none of my business and that it should be up to admins and moderators, but you do get that this is promoting bootlegs / fake LEGO and it takes away shares of what LEGO could be doing, some licenses are also illegal. It has probably been discussed a 1000 times before in this long topic, just my shake on it. But seeing how these guys steal ( not saying its exactly the same persons ), other persons ideas. Take Oký´s "inside out headquarters", these guys steal others ideas, make fake LEGO just to benefit from it themself. You do realize that you are promoting it, but still want "real" LEGO in the future also. Sorry but it just makes me so mad, and i think its very wrong. Its theft to say the least. Main post of Oky´s "Inside Out headquartes". http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=112453 Now take a look at the posts after this: http://www.eurobrick...25#entry2366463 I hope you realize what im trying to say. While I can't speak for others, I'm fairly confident that very few people in this thread condone stealing other people's work / designs / artwork. What happened in the case you referred is absolutely horrible. Fact is, I have also had plenty of my MOC ideas used for profit (without any notice, credit or permission). Again, the purpose of my contributions has always been to "share" first and foremost with the EB/Flickr community and beyond, but there will always be those who seek to abuse the system for profit / ill gotten gains (it's a very small minority mind you -- but those scumbags are out there). Now has this given me pause about sharing some of my ideas so freely in the future? Absolutely it has. And its a darn shame because everyone loses due to a few bad apples. The best we can do is call out these bad apples, but in the end, that's life -- life has scumbags -- and that happens outside the circle of this thread so I don't think it's that helpful to get sidetracked on this discussion as it has been discussed ad nauseum. If you do feel that strongly about it, I would suggest you create a separate topic for it. Having said that I don't buy the argument that this takes away from the appeal or the bottom line at TLG. On the contrary, I have always argued that this brings greater overall "awareness" of the real thing and that people will ultimately aspire to purchase the genuine article at some stage. Those who stick to buying only bootlegs would not have received TLG's business anyway, and in fact, I contend that over time, there will be far more bootleg buyers that convert to TLG buyers at some point -- so in the end, ironically, the pie gets bigger not smaller for TLG. Furthermore, as many others have also rightly noted, we don't make these products, purchasing these products is not illegal, and further, trying to censor discussions about these products will have zero impact, so what you end up doing is simply censoring free speech, which is the worst possible outcome -- and that is indeed something I (and frankly everyone should) feel very strongly about. There is nothing wrong in discussing this topic freely among community members. If you don't like the topic, simply don't participate. If you want to discuss why this topic is bad, create one dedicated to discussing it. In sum, as you rightly noted, this side-topic has been discussed 1000 times over and is a horse that doesn't need to be beaten again on this thread. Plenty of other places to discuss it -- and I encourage you to do so -- just not on this topic please. Edited November 2, 2015 by agoodfella77
