To add to agoodfella, it is a shame that of the myriad of scumbag bootleg companies out there, there are a few that have genuinely made attempts at releasing their own projects and designs rather than stripping them off official or custom models and ultimately are slapped the bootleg label. SY is the most obvious example and if they continue to be innovative in their products, I don't see why they shouldn't be given the same level of respect to those given to custom minifigures. As an avid minifigure collector, it's rewarding to be able to have much more interesting and high quality products to choose, and shouldn't all be bluntly dismissed by some who only see "bootleg" as the generic poor quality made by companies that blatantly copy ideas to leech off Lego.

Having said that I don't buy the argument that this takes away from the appeal or the bottom line at TLG. On the contrary, I have always argued that this brings greater overall "awareness" of the real thing and that people will ultimately aspire to purchase the genuine article at some stage. Those who stick to buying only bootlegs would not have received TLG's business anyway, and in fact, I contend that over time, there will be far more bootleg buyers that convert to TLG buyers at some point -- so in the end, ironically, the pie gets bigger not smaller for TLG.

I've been absent from the bootleg scene recently as I've started replacing a lot of my bootleg DC/Marvel figures with the originals. To begin with I think I had 2 original Lego minifigures under the superhero themes; joker and spiderman as they were easily obtainable from polybag promotions. The majority of my DC bootleg figures have been replaced and some random Marvel figures.

Without having a huge collection of bootlegs I wouldn't have thought to buy the originals. I have even gone further and expanded my Star Wars collection when I went looking for original superheroes. I didn't stop there and now my minifigure collection has a few miscellaneous additions with the likes of Scooby Doo and gang, Marty McFly, and random figures I did not need.

I fully support the idea that bootlegs bring greater overall awareness of the real thing as you put it. The big hole in my wallet agrees too.

I had to dig deep into my pockets for some minifigures like the Juniors Green Goblin. That only made me spend more and buy every Lego spiderverse figure. I'd appreciate it if someone can write me up a list of Spidey figures that only bootleg make. I miss the price quality of bootleg figures. Thanks in advance

I got my Dargo Doctor Fate, Miss Martian, Red Hood, Killer Croc, and Aqualad today. Dargo's quality vhas significantly improved. The plastic quality, in my opinion, is on par with SY and Decool. The printing is good too, with only a little of Miss Martian's torso print on the legs. Also, the leg prints for Doctor Fate and Miss Martian continue on the back of the legs! Overall, I recommend this set.

I wonder have DLP used my artwork too or have they bothered to draw up the official back print from the original.

I'm pretty sure the boots on the Sam Wilson Cap won't be dual moulded though. I think I may have to get those legs from a Spidey and some genuine blue arms and red hands to get that one as close to the SDCC as possible.

Same with the dark red arms and hood for Arsenal.

So i would have to get 7 dc figures just to get 1 marvel... Hate it when they do this...

I hate that I have all minifigures except one. I'll try to buy only Sam Wilson Captain America.

Yeah... but the set will probably cost around £5 for all of them so no great hardship at all...

Yeah i will do the same. But i would suggest to wait a little while because Dual moulded legs are getting more popular with all these new sets the value of a pair of those legs will probably drop. Right now the cheapest way is to buy a spiderman figure with Dual moulded legs from bricklink for around 4 gbp.

Did you put in some wire in these arms? Might wanna try it too since it looks really cool.

The hose would never stay bent without wire.

Yes yes wire of course.

Right... I've ordered the two DLP sets along with the Decool Arrow set and the SY Justice League.

Looks like I'll have loads of figures to give away though including that Grodd... I'll also have loads of the new Bat cowl on my hands.

I'm thinking of switching out the printed arms on the Arkham Batman for genuine grey arms and going for vambraces? Or can anyone recommend a good set of printed arms that can be used instead?

At least I'll get to compare the Decool and DLP Arsenal with my genuine version. I'll post pictures when they arrive.

Where have you managed to get Vambraces from? Everytime I have looked they are out of stock... boo.
