This mech trend... does anyone think it's a bit much?

I think it is a waste of plastic... If it is because they want to earn more they can just up the price a little i would not be mad because i love their quality but i hate this lego tactic they are using right now. I am not buying a mech for 10$+ just to get 1 or 2 bootleg figures...

The problem with these trends is that we always see the same figs (cap-thor-hulk-batman-superman-and a lot of iron men). I dont need them.

Mechs offer absolutely nothing to me as I really don't like bootleg bricks to start with but I'm quite interested in the Bats, Joker, Zod and Supes variations.

At least it is only SY who has these mechs. Which is a crying shame as SY is probably the best brand to buy bootlegs off of. I am kind of upset because I would love the figs in the banner, antman, and wolverine mech. I am looking high and low for a seller that will remove the figures as I can't stand having bootleg bricks (they cut me every time i click them together) and paying for the extra bricks that I do not even want. Why would I pay 15USD if the fig inside is the only valuable piece worth less than 2USD??? Even then the mech booklet is confusing as the pieces in the book are not the same color as the real ones. The joints and hinges are loose, and there are stickers, not printing on the pieces. (As I am reading this, it sort of looks like a rant, but this is just my opinion I am sure you will agree with.)

I think the 'worth' or 'value' of something is, to me, entirely relative. Custom figures start from around £14 for a pad printed figure so looking at a good figure, even a bootleg, you could say that £6 is a good price for a unique figure... That's $9 per fig, so $15 is still only £10 for 2 figs even if you bin all the bricks.

I think we're just so used to figures being only 60p each.

That said... It's probably only SY that are making figs that would be worth it.

Interesting... based on Dargo's last offering, I may buy up at least 4 of these, just asked seller which is which though, the labelling is poor (and no doubt the length of time it will take to receive the things!)

They really can;t do the cockpit right in those mechs........

This is pretty much my view. In the end, if Dargo or LELE did a mech set at a higher price point than a set of figs, but included an "exclusive" fig -- no one would buy it. SY have proven themselves as the best fig maker and are now leveraging that leadership to move up into a higher price point. They will lose some business for sure, but there will be those who buy the set to get the figs. I have. Previously I got the 4 vehicle sets that had the unique variants of Magneto, Nick Fury, Doctor Doom, etc. I bought the Banner / Hulk mech set. I just bought the Victor Creed / Wolvie mech set. All of those additional pieces go into a huge bucket of bootleg pieces that I will likely be cleaning and donating to my local goodwill at some point.

The other point which is getting a bit overlooked is that this is forcing SY to come up with some unique figs. The Banner fig, the Victor Creed fig. They get the fact that yet another Captain America or Iron Man fig is not going to be moving the needle, and that is a great thing.

Thanks - yeah I saw that in the end - have ordered 4 - at around the magic number of... yes 60p each!

Rob's right, some of the bigger sets are still worth it for the unique printed figures, I have wanted to get my hands on Jean Gray for months, but hesitate at the circa £8 for the SY209(or is it 208) set. I don't want the cannons, or indeed Magneto or Dr Doom (Black Bolt would probably be ok) so it works out at £4 each figure. If I can build some of my customs for £4 each I am usually quite pleased with myself... maybe I should just pull my finger out and order them

I ordered the canons. They are good. The Doom is different, the Magneto is different and they are worth it.

I use the green canon with my hydra guys and it looks great with them. The others are different, but if you have any of the lego sets like aim lab, they go really well with them, I mean that is where the buildable seated weapon idea came from...

The mechs are not bad... Again, I don't believe that the Hulk needs a mech, but the olive green lends itself to the hydra guys again. The ironman mech, with some tinkering, becomes a pretty cool little suit.

Cap and thors mechs are a bit... Meh, but I used the captain head with the helmet from the captain america 8 piece set and it fits much better, eye to eye hole ratio and that captain america figure really looks ace, I'll get a pic up of him.

The banner fig is good, and like Rob said, SY are now making unique figs. Some customs I buy can costs a lot more per fig than these guys... But they are at least making their own designs (on the brick built items)... Or at least they were until the superman batman mechs which are power armour lex sets... But still... They are different, and that bat mech might even look better than the bloody monstrosity that came with the gorilla grodd set. An official set that costs over £45 for a cruddy truck, a mech that was pretty limp and a poor attemp at an invisible jet, and I know how hard that could be, they should've made all the parts trans clear.

The end result is that this set is much cheaper, and for those of you that want the figs, fine, but remember that batman is a toy/gadget centric hero, the more bits he has the better for our bat caves!

I just need a deadpool mech and something yellow... Or purple...

Also, the clutch power on the limb pieces in the mechs is not bad at all. I have some of these on my official Hulkbuster because those pieces, in Lego, do not come in black and do help to augment my sets.

Well once my stuff is out of storage in a week or so when I move into my new house you'll have a Jean Grey for nothing! ;)

Anyone found any links for this figure? I'm quite interested in it (and those SHIELD agents, too!)

I wish the quality on those POGO figures was a bit better since they're doing some really interesting figs.

I love that Pogo are really going for it in regards to detail - with side and back leg printing (though I am sure these are most likely ripped off other customisers) but the actual quality of print is a little disappointing
