Swifty118247 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hey, Recently received my fantastic four set and am modifying them to look like the video game exactly. I'm a bit unsure about using AE as I know about the reputation. Anyone know of any safe AE sellers or anyone that has them for quite cheap on ebay? That would be great!!
Kire Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) YESSS THE MOMENT AND WAVE I'VE FINALLY BEEN WAITED FOR!! Also if you look at Taskmaster's shield, i don't know if its just the picture they use, but it looks better than the official one Lego used and more of a Captain America shield with Taskmaster shield printing which is pretty sweet/ Edited August 20, 2014 by Kire
Brickmamba Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) Nice spotting Borex/Robianco, good to see despite the wait SY hasn't disappoint, young justice, all new release in a big set of 8, wow can't wait to get my mittens on them. decools release a little less inspiring , punisher and bullseye are nice, electro would be good parts for an iceman custom, but the rest are TLM repeats. May hold out and see if SY release the same set as I much prefer their torsos and legs. Waiting for my first order from AE if that comes through will probably fire on these Edited August 21, 2014 by Brickmamba
Kire Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I couldn't wait so I already ordered the Decool Punisher wave off AE, I just looked for the seller with the highest rating. I wonder what the next wave is going to be, GOTG anyone? SDCC exclusives?
robuko Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I am honestly more excited about SY and Decool releases than Lego at the moment
agoodfella77 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Has anyone seen the actual picture of the figs? There are some interesting tidbits from the pictures on the boxes if the figs match them: 1) Red Skull -- I hope it comes with the Black Cap as pictured 2) Taskmaster -- I hope his Shield has that T logo on it
Kire Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) I am honestly more excited about SY and Decool releases than Lego at the moment Decool and SY have been killing Lego with this summers releases, Decool on average releases two waves per month and SY does almost the same and now that SY has branched into the building block set department at 2 or 3 sets a month. I usually spend an average of $100 on Lego per month (usually less). The only Lego set I've bought for this month was the GOTG Knowhere escape mission at $40 retail, and I still haven't even spent that much on bootlegs this month and I've ordered the Decool Iron man, the Punisher wave and the SY Iron man lab sets. robuko Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Its to bad the swats come with the other assault style figs, I find them very plain and not appealing at all, guess have to wait for the market to settle and hope prices drop before I can efficiently build a little squad of swats, currently see them selling for over $10 for set of 4 figs which is surprisingly more than most superheroes sets go for. I saw them yesterday at US$10 for 2 packs of 4.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that. As much as I like SY/decool this summer release in my opinion has been one of the best, in terms of minifigures a lot of new moulds and exclusives, all the marvel sets, UCS Tumbler and at least half a dozen SWs including the rebel sets are must buys for me and then theres the upcoming CMFs which looks promising. But in saying that SY/decool have been great for filling in the gap when no TLM sets are released, the bootlegs seem to come out with something at least every 1-2months. All in all its a great situation for us AFOLs. I saw them yesterday at US$10 for 2 packs of 4. Where you see that, I have been spending a little more than that on eBay

Brickmamba Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Local toy shop in wan chai market. Ah true, I would imagine these figs would be everywhere in HK, would you know if they sell them at Ins Point at YMT?
robuko Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Ah true, I would imagine these figs would be everywhere in HK, would you know if they sell them at Ins Point at YMT? Distribution is actually not that wide. I haven't seen them at Ins Point, I guess the price point is too low. There are about 6 stalls selling them in the Temple Street market which is also in Yau Ma Tei though.

Where you see that, I have been spending a little more than that on eBay I tend to try and stick to one theme and so far it's the Superheroes line, due to lack of space (and money) in my apartment I usually try and buy all the sets all at once, but in June when I went to the Lego store to purchase the X men set and the GOTG sets, the only set they didn't have was the Knowhere escape mission, so for a month I was filling that gap with Decool and SY. Don't get me wrong the Lego figures this wave have been amazing, the printing on Drax is amazing and I even doubt bootleggers will be able to recreate that printing in exact detail and the same for the molds used for Rocket, and the one of a kind molds used for Star lord, Wolverine and Ronan. This wave has been amazing as you said. Edited August 21, 2014 by Kire

I can appreciate the need for space, that is actually an issue I am having at the moment, there has been an exponential increase in minifigures collected this year, I've added more CMFs, building SW clone armys and SY/decool bootlegs, I'm running out of space and display boxes for all these figs and more to come
SnapLock Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Even thought they are not superheroes i really like the SY Swat team.
wilson3a10 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) Lele's swat team, some of the legs have wrong printings... Overall qc is good. P.S The 60043 and the batman are genuine. Edited August 23, 2014 by wilson3a10
stayunspoiled Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Just wondering what the best TMNT bootlegs there are getting about? I have two sets currently 1. The new set with the masked turtles, SDCC Kranng and Shredder 2. Original set that came with the stickers for the skateboards (TMNT + Splinter + Shredder). The new masked set was waaaaaay better than the original one. Is there one out there of the same quality? Also glad to see the Young Justice love, especially blue Nightwing. I haven't seen one around but does anyone know if a Batman - blue with large Hush style logo has been printed? This is the one that came in the original line with Scarecrow.

How do you find the quality of the lele accessories? i actually like the variety of the lele swat set more than SY and plan to slap those assault gears on TLG police figures hence my question. I already got some SY sets locked up but still pondering on lele since I have never bought their stuff before, from your pics they don't look to bad

The set has 8 figures. 2 of them (both are swat :<) I purchased has the leg's printings miss placed. Also the joints between the torso and the legs are loosen. But it is still cheap to create your own Swat team. Edited August 23, 2014 by wilson3a10

TheLegoDr Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 With all of these newer figures coming out, I am definitely interested in buying some of these bootlegs. I bought the Winter Soldier set on eBay months ago, but I'd prefer a lot of these others. Would people recommend Aliexpress for most of the shopping or wait until they hit eBay? I assume people haven't had too many orders gone missing with the Aliexpress shipping from China.

I tend to use eBay as I've brought several sets of the same seller so know the reliability and his price is always good. You could always order one set off Aliexpress and see as it will only be a few £ or $.

I assume people haven't had too many orders gone missing with the Aliexpress shipping from China. I have to admit I've had problems with sellers on Aliexpress and eBay in equal measure. I try to buy boxed figures and they often come crushed where the seller packs them in a plastic bag :/ I've also had a few instances where I've been sent completely the wrong thing. Most have been resolved ok with partial or full refunds. The only parcels that have actually never arrived (never sent?) were all from eBay as all the Ali stuff is also sent with a tracking number. It's a stressful experience dealing with sellers in China on both sites, but at the end of the day you're only chancing a few dollars if something does go wrong. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of the Ali sellers are just drop shippers. I've ordered from dozens of different sellers and all the parcels have come from the same few addresses. I've probably had over 300 figures come in about a 50/50 site split and really have no preference which site I buy from. It's down to the cheapest one normally.
