Kire Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I have to admit I've had problems with sellers on Aliexpress and eBay in equal measure. I try to buy boxed figures and they often come crushed where the seller packs them in a plastic bag :/ I've also had a few instances where I've been sent completely the wrong thing. Most have been resolved ok with partial or full refunds. The only parcels that have actually never arrived (never sent?) were all from eBay as all the Ali stuff is also sent with a tracking number. It's a stressful experience dealing with sellers in China on both sites, but at the end of the day you're only chancing a few dollars if something does go wrong. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of the Ali sellers are just drop shippers. I've ordered from dozens of different sellers and all the parcels have come from the same few addresses. I've probably had over 300 figures come in about a 50/50 site split and really have no preference which site I buy from. It's down to the cheapest one normally. I ordered from taobao and Aliexpress recently, and I'm a bit worried now. How long should I wait before I make a claim if my stuff doesn't arrive?
Robianco Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I ordered from taobao and Aliexpress recently, and I'm a bit worried now. How long should I wait before I make a claim if my stuff doesn't arrive? I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've never had a problem with either site and Chinese sellers... Items can take from 10 days to get here to the UK but every single order I've made has arrived fine. I think a lot of the issues to Ali were that people thought they were buying legitimate goods really cheap then found they were sometimes buying counterfeit or items with iffy qc... We already know exactly what we're getting and are aware of the possibility of iffy qc and that is balanced out by the low cost.
Brickmamba Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 With all of these newer figures coming out, I am definitely interested in buying some of these bootlegs. I bought the Winter Soldier set on eBay months ago, but I'd prefer a lot of these others. Would people recommend Aliexpress for most of the shopping or wait until they hit eBay? I assume people haven't had too many orders gone missing with the Aliexpress shipping from China. I try to stick to eBay because of the familiarity and protection but I have made some orders on AE which I am still patiently waiting to arrive, I do find AE is a little cheaper and can buy it now without waiting for auctions to end and more variety, will let yall know if i do or don't get my orders
wickedlemon Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I ordered from taobao and Aliexpress recently, and I'm a bit worried now. How long should I wait before I make a claim if my stuff doesn't arrive? If you check in My Orders you should have a tracking number, so you know when your stuff has been shipped. I've had stuff arrive in 3 or 4 days and others 3 or 4 weeks. Check the seller's listed processing time as, unlike eBay, AE doesn't insist sellers ship next day. You're probably worrying over nothing.. I try to stick to eBay because of the familiarity and protection Still a problem as eBay require buyers to pay return shipping in the event of a problem, which to China is normally more than the figures cost! My biggest bootleg lose was actually on eBay from a UK seller. Go figure. Badly damaged boxes, but it just wasn't worth my while returning them due to the cost. At least most Ali sellers will offer you a couple of dollars refund in this instance.
BigPoppaBrick Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Think I'll go for both of the SWAT sets as they look pretty good. Also want the latest Marvel and Young Justice so will buy after Holidays
wilson3a10 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Large photos for the coming wave Yeah, Punisher with 2 guns Edited August 24, 2014 by wilson3a10
agoodfella77 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Anyone from Hong Kong on these boards? I'm actually scheduled to be going there soon and was wondering what the best place would be to browse / pick up some Decool / SY / LELE sets? Feel free to PM as well. Many thanks in advance! Borex Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 More pics! More pics! That shield of Taskmaster, i love it! That was actually one of the flaws of the original lego set, so my real taskmaster will have his shield thanks to a knockoff brand. Too bad Red Skull and Bullseye are not really visible. It seems that bullseye has a little trouble with the ink not being white enough. Another news: a pic from a decool hulkbuster. I have no idea when or where but saw this pic and thought of sharing with y'all.

Kire Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm so happy that the shield on taskmaster is better than the official one of Lego! Another point for the bootleggers, which is added to the point earned from the following; movable head on big figs, movable short legs on the figures, and now the Taskmaster shield is better than the official Lego one.
wilson3a10 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) But it seems the head of hulk buster is fixed... Come on, now I need deathstroke! Edited August 24, 2014 by wilson3a10

Also the Red Skull comes with a black officer's cap -- something the the official version did not. Does anyone have a link for the Decool Hulkbuster?
Kire Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 But it seems the head of hulk buster is fixed... Come on, now I need deathstroke! This Hulkbuster is made by Decool, I believe the Bootleggers that made the bigfigs head movable was SY and they also were the ones that made the shorts legs movable also. If SY goes this route in making the Hulkbuster (I'm pretty sure since bootleggers just take other bootleggers ideas and vice versa) then i'm pretty sure it will have a movable head.
Robianco Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Quality wise I think the armour, weapons etc on the Lele set looks pretty good... probably almost identical to SY. Which in turn is pretty similar to the main US makers. The figures will always be a bit iffy and the heads will normally need replacing on all of them. I wasn't going to pick up the latest Decool set as I have all of the figures as either legitimate Lego or pad printed customs but there are a couple of things that would make it worth it such as the shield for Taskmaster and the weapons etc. Can anyone tell me if Lego has produced a tile printed with the Ace card that Bullseye has or are they custom? If custom that would be another thing to take from the set. The Hulkbuster certainly looks interesting but I think there'll be an official one next year with capacity to fit Tony into so I'll wait for that.
wickedlemon Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Another news: a pic from a decool hulkbuster. I have no idea when or where but saw this pic and thought of sharing with y'all. So has anyone spotted the number on this box? There are six gaps between the end of the Punisher wave (0174) and this (0181), so are we expecting another 6 figure wave before we get to the Hulkbuster?

Probably another six wave set and maybe the Hulkbuster isn't going to be alone since Decool usually release three different color variants for Big Figs; Green, Gray, and Red Hulk. The Thing, FF variant and red short variant. So maybe the hulkbuster is going to be released in a three color set.

I've only ever seen a tile with the multiple cards on it which i see custom gambits with, this one http://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-tile-1-x-2-with-decoration-with-groove-3069-581876 Looks like hulkbuster is next on the radar, have rest of the others on order incoming
wilson3a10 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 For me, I prefer a set with red, blue and grey colour. That will be perfect
Kire Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Found an eBay link for the Taskmaster decool wave http://www.ebay.com/...=item27ea266b41 Young Justice http://www.ebay.com/...=item27e9bbf47d And a really marked up price of the SY lab set (http://www.ebay.com/...=item27e8426025), may order it since I may have botched up trying to order from TaoBao without actually making a Taobao account and only making a EngTaoBao account so now I have no idea how to check the status or even ask for a refund. chriscorbett Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Has anybody seen a SY Superman set with the updated (not curved) feet? I know they updated the Batman range but did they do it for Superman as well?

Sebiron Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Pretty sure there was a blue Hulkbuster image a page or so back. "Igor" is it? The Lele Hulkbuster has a different mould.
