Kire Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Now I finally have a reason to get the SY GOTG set. *sighs* looks like I am going to have plenty of multiples of figures when my nieces and nephews come visit me for Christmas :)
gauz Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 SY GoTG available here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/SY257-8pcs-lot-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-figures-Rocket-raccoon-ronan-camora-star-lord-Groot-Building/32235099245.html
Cagast Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 One word: Yuck. Three more words: Don't buy it. http://lotsoflegos.b...ni-figures.html Those probably have the worst faces ever. Especially Wyldstyle, hurts my eyess
pmptstc1 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I'm kinda disappointed in that Groot. I was really hoping for a new head mold, and the leg print seems very odd. It looks like they took a screen shot of the legs of the brick - built Lego Groot and printed it on. .. very strange decision.
kid Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Groot does look off. I would have liked a molded head. Does anyone know what these are? http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/SY252-charlie-IX-and-DODOMO-series-adventure-block-toys-charlie-IX-story-FATSHARK-figures-toy-bricks/1302524_32225168065.html

wickedlemon Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Does anyone know what these are? http://www.aliexpres...2225168065.html Google it! Appears to be a series of Chinese children's books.
Robianco Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) I definitely think we're all getting a little spoilt when we start complaining that a bootleg company doesn't design and produce a minifigure custom moulded head for a Groot minifigure that has never been produced yet. The mould they've used actually doesn't look that bad and I'd wait to see the figure in 'person' before saying whether it does or doesn't work. You never know... it may turn out much better than you think! :) I'll be picking a set up and giving some GOTG figures to a kid I know who would love GOTG Lego but whose family just doesn't have the disposable income to pick up those sets... I think that's kind of the point of bootleg figures. Edited November 16, 2014 by Robianco
pmptstc1 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 We can all hope for better. I'm just saying that Groot isn't enough to get me to buy another GotG set, as I was fully planning on doing. Decool made some awesome custom molds for the league of legends line, and I would love to see more stuff like that.
Borex Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 JLB also has Doraemon bootleg lego :-D http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/JLB-6pcs-lot-Japan-Doraemon-nobi-nobita-characters-minifigures-block-toys-Doraemon-block-toy-bricks/1302524_32235380550.html

If the face is printed well it may work. SY has a good track record (The FF set was awesome) so it pays to wait and see.
tkkim79 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 decool's xmen wave now available on AE http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Pre-sale-SuperHeroes-X-men-Ororo-Munroe-Magneto-Catwoman-Wolverine-Batman-action-Minifigure-Building-blocks-toys/1455218_32232078236.html
Brickmamba Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 decool's xmen wave now available on AE http://www.aliexpres...2232078236.html Is it just me or has decool fixed the leg hinge to match official
Robianco Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Is it just me or has decool fixed the leg hinge to match official ...the shoulders look rounded on this too. I'm thinking they're CGI images based on genuine Lego rather than the actual Decool product. Fingers crossed I'm wrong but I just get the feeling that's not exactly what we'll get. I've ordered 2 sets anyway. As I'm a Batman fan I'm covering my back on the print for the ZEA Bats... so I got 2 just in case.
Kire Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I know this may be a bit off topic, on eBay the SDCC Rocket Raccoon is starting to become more easily obtainable for under $20. I picked up one just now for $10.42.

I picked up one just now for $10.42. I also grabbed one for 10.98. Since they polybags are out in the US as of yesterday I expect the price will stay low for a little while. It is a worthwhile purchase IMHO + plant Groot.
wassermj Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 holy cow- monster high/friends 'dolls'. my daughter is going to flip over these http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/JLB-6pcs-monster-girls-figures-building-blocks-school-girls-cartoon-characters-block-toys-girls-friends-toy/1302524_32235114260.html
Robianco Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I saw those but the CGI images looks pretty iffy... so my daughter will just have to wait on them... same with the Tinkerbell 'Friends dolls': http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/2014-New-Girls-6pcs-lot-Fairies-Princess-figures-Tinker-Bell-and-friends-figures-building-block-toys/1302524_2054670452.html I've made a couple of new orders recently so now it's the waiting game on delivery. The SY LOTR set has also appeared: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/SY251-8pcs-Hobbit-Gollum-Legolas-minifigures-block-toys-The-Lord-Of-The-Rings-building-blocks-Legolas/1302524_32230484937.html The Antman etc set is up and with larger images: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/12pcs-lot-The-Avengers-ant-man-Magneto-the-Quicksilver-figures-The-Avengers-building-block-toys-Compatible/1302524_2048847085.html They look pretty bad except, oddly enough, for the Antman helmet piece which looks half decent!
Sebiron Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 A second SY Fantastic Four set arrived today. I have given the fire \Hair piece to Ghost Rider. http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/321/6/3/ma1_by_seblebon-d86qnai.jpg http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/321/4/2/ma2_by_seblebon-d86qmmg.jpg I also finished Batman & Robin 1966 , hope I can build a good Batmobile for Christmas. http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/321/7/f/ba_by_seblebon-d86qojv.jpg
Kire Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Now waiting patiently for the SY Guardians of the galaxy wave and decool wave to release so I can order them.
Praiter Yed Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I got my SY Fantastic Four set today! ... with The Human Touch missing an arm :( My set was delivered at the weekend with the same problem . Seller has offered £1 refund or a replacement arm - of course I've asked for the arm, fingers crossed I get the 'right' one . Other than that I'm hugely impressed with this set, especially the Silver Surfer and I like the big Thing in the flesh much more than Decool's version - I didn't think I would from only seeing pictures. My son has laid claim to most of these figures, so I'm going to have to buy another set for myself! I realised the other day, whilst collecting together all the spare bootlegs my son wasn't interested in and sealing them in grip-seal baggies, that I've become as obsessed with collecting fake Lego as I am with actual Lego. This thread with it's constant updates, links and pictures is largely responsible for my downfall, so (with slight sarcasm) cheers guys!
Robianco Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 You're welcome! ;) To be honest I've been the same... although my custom minifigs in general have gone through the roof in the last 6 months... probably spurred on by these bootlegs. I've even replaced some of the bootleg figures with customs by Christo etc which the bootlegs were meant to be cheap alternatives for. If I can see a noticeable difference in a bootleg and another custom then I'll look to replace it (eventually). It's interesting to see that some of the people on some social media who were so anti-bootlegs have now admitted to picking things up they liked. There's even a customiser who has been completely ripped off by the bootleggers who has then picked up things such as Venom and Hulkbuster. The new waves in January etc will see a ton of bootlegs to duplicate them although I'm not really interested in duplicates... I just hope they get them out of the way and then look to put out some completely unique figures... similar to the Avengers wave that SY did when they put out a set of comic designs. Now with SY going into Star Wars and LOTR more I'm sure they'll increase those lines too... they're all getting into modern warfare etc and even the Lele accessories are actually pretty close to the well regarded custom accessory makers in terms of quality. I'm just hoping we get things in the figure such as a SY set of the order of the Phoenix with Shacklebolt, Sirius and Tonks. That would be great.
jangosolo Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Long may it continue in my view, though I am more interested in stuff that either has never and will never be produced by lego (apart from the SDCC stuff, which are quite frankly unobtainable otherwise) - not really that keen on Bootleggers just copying ALL the lego catalogue. I have enjoyed the Fantastic Four duel between the bootleggers, we've got some great results out of it, but the recent GOTC duel has been a little disappointing. Aside from a blurry pic of a new Groot - which may be great (or not) and some generic army builders, the set is basically the same as Decool's - I wish we had got the Collector in there, or a Thanos. Overall though as Praiter Yed says, this thread is extremely addictive and so are the bootleggers releases - the change in quality over the last year has been incredible (aside from the odd hilariously bad set) - long may it continue!
