Thanks!!! That is really cool. I think this is the first Decool big fig with a moveable head.

I finally got around to modding my Groot. The head is a little too big, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out.

Great minds think alike, i was thinking about doing this exact same thing.

Just curious, how did you deal with the excess material around the neck? and how have you attached it to the body?

Thanks!

Thanks! I'm glad you guys like it. It's not quite as pretty from the back, but the parts I messed up on kinda work only because Groot is supposed to be wood.

I removed the head from the original torso with a Dremel cutting wheel, and, from there, I trimmed up the neck with an X-acto. If you look at some of the pics I added to my Flickr ( https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ ), you can see a part where I cut too much and made a little gap. You have to be careful, because the head is not solid. Some parts of the plastic where I trimmed got discolored, so I heated them a little with a lighter to get them back to about the original color/sheen.

In order to fit the head on a minifig torso, I drilled a hole with an 1/8' bit (I had to wobble the hole out a little after I drilled the first hole to make it fit properly). This will probably be the trickiest step for most. Again, because the head isn't solid, you have to be careful. It's really not easy to drill exactly where you want because the bit is going to want to go into one of the gaps that is already there. I had the drill on a high speed and went really slowly (with the head held in a clamp for safety). I honestly think i just got lucky with how good the angle ended up being.

Also, Digger318 added a bunch of video reviews.

you could have filled the gaps with greenstuff or something similar first.

So many good characters, but they are going to be so terrible :(... maybe it will get Decool or SY on the ball, though.

So nice to see classic comic book versions rather than the ultimate/movie versions that we're going to get from Lego.
