crowkillers Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Most of you have probably seen this, but incase you haven't: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=106853 Story behind it: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/7849 I am already started on my next supercar. This one will blow the technic lovers away... -Paul Boratko Quote
selder Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Respect for your design, but I like the Lego 8653 better ... And you say you were challenged ... by who? Quote
The Middleman Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Yours is more impressive, but LEGO has a more streamlined version. Quote
Robert M Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I think this super car is really good. Although it's an old design, it's still fabulous. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) Why have we bumped this topic? Edited February 15, 2012 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Sariel Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) Come on, like you never brought back a discussion from 7 years ago ;) Edited February 15, 2012 by Sariel Quote
dolittle Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 What do you mean bumped? Brought some topic from 2005 back to the front line :) Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Robert this topic was started in 2005 a tobic that there has not been any replies for a year or so we call it bumping, unless there i a good reason it should be avoided. Quote
Robert M Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Well I thought the car was good, am I not allowed to do this or something. If it was wrong, the topics would have been deleted, so as far as I'm concerned, I haven't done anything wrong. Quote
Sariel Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Necroposting - on a message board, posting something irrelevent on a really old topic to bring it to the top of the list topics. Name comes from the fact that you are bringing it back from the dead, thus Necro. And there's everything wrong with it. Quote
Robert M Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Enough guys, I posted on it, without intention for this. So leave it be, yeah? Quote
Paul Boratko Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I completely forget about this thread... This all started at the Lugnut forum about being accused that the 8653 prelim pics were fake and that it was actually a bad joke and that I was behind it... So after a few e-mails questioning my intentions, I tried to build something better to prove that the 8653 wasn't something that I had done and when looking back on this, I would say that I failed miserably... In fact I don't think that I actually learned how to somewhat build until 4 or 5 years after I built this Enzo inspired model... I also look back on this this creation and realize what a poor job that I did on it... Quote
Siegfried Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 For more details on the EB stance on bumping really old topics, please read this. As a FYI, this is a case where it really shouldn't have been. I also look back on this this creation and realize what a poor job that I did on it... BTW Paul, if you want to merge these two accounts just PM me... Quote

Kronos Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 U were very wrong! Wow, man. That's a little harsh. Unless you are joking this could easily be taken the wrong way. I I've noticed a negative tone from some members on several occations now. It's not just a language barrier thing either. I come to this site/forum to stay up to date on news/info, not be treated badly. While this hasn't happened to me personally, it has happened, and is still troubling. I think the tone of this site should be kept lite, and any reprimands, so to speak, should be made through PM. -Mike Quote
Meatman Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I also look back on this this creation and realize what a poor job that I did on it... Tell us how you really feel. Quote

Your enzo had a killer chassis, suspension, 7 speed box...to boot and all in 2005! where was lego in 2005 with technic car design...the 8448 in 1999 was the last effort we had to wait until 2011!! for the 8070. steve Edited February 15, 2012 by skyliner Quote
Robert M Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Everyone that has said I've done something wrong, read my first post. Then read the topic about bumping. I noted that it was an old design, I didn't quote anyone, I didn't ask questions, I didn't do anything that was advised not to do. I'm innocent as I ever can be. Nothing wrong with what I've done, but from what this has caused, I've noted it, and there will be no more bumping from me in the future. Over and out to this topic. Robert. Quote
