Madoca's Dump Truck reverse engineering project

I follow this forum since 2 years and decided now to join the members. I'm out of my dark ages.

I 'm a fan of Madoca's creation and as others here, I wish to build his Dump Truck.

So based on his youtube video, I started to reverse engineer this Truck in LDD. But as all of you know it's not as easy.

So far I got this:

I color coded in lime parts which should be in black, but to be able to see it better I decided in lime I can select them and change them later in one step.

I color coded in purple parts which either might not be 100% sure.

Big work needed on the chassis and the gears.

I'm hoping that Madoca has some more pics or video material to share with us on this superb Dump truck.

I will of course share LDD file as soon as I know how to get here.

Today I started to try to build this Dump Truck. I still could not figure out more based on the video of madoca for the LDD.

Now it's time for try and build, rebuild... till I get it hopefully close to his creation. I will document it in LDD. (MLCAD is not yet my piece of cake).

I'm hoping that madoca will read this post and be so kind to assist with some additional video material.

If someone could maybe give madoca a hint about my post. THKY

Real building is also in progress, but getting "creative". So this project will not anymore be 100% Madoca guaranteed Dump Truck.

edit: Finaly I got in touch with Madoca. No additional video material left. But got his go ahead for this project. Thank you Madoca.

Hope to be able to work more on this project soon.

WIP

Some news, Madoca confirmed that in fact the truck is not orange but was made in red. As I did not find some panels in orange it's why I had to ask Madoca.

I investigated a little, and it seem's only to be possible to build it in red, yellow or black. However yellow is tricky for the 32184 which is rare.

I started to build it in yellow as i got those rare parts. (and did not have enough red part's)

Some news from this project

and without the dump bin

Work is much harder now.

I had to redo the chassis in LDD, the green one with the red cabin is somehow twisted and some parts did not fit in between as they should have.

The real Dump truck is also in progress and helps a lot for validating the LDD. Did not make any pics yet, I'm too impressed about the pics posted on this forum, that level I can not yet reach.

Main issues to work on are:

- steering

- rear wheels with suspension

- cabin folding

At some point, I found out that I made the chassis 1 stud too long, it was tricky to get to recheck the whole chassis construction.

You haven't posted in this topic for a while, any progress on the truck?

The truck is progressing, but slowly only... reasons are:

- not enough time to spend on it for the moment.

- it's getting hard to find out which hidden parts are used, meaning the parts hidden on madocas video.

- I had to order some parts to try some solutions

Found a solution for cabin pivot, but needs to be confirmed with the rest of the cabin fixing

Rear wheels still need a solution for attaching it to the chassis

I hope that I will be able to finish this project for mid September
