Heh, I kept reloading like a half a dozen times yesterday trying to get the parts update, only to finally check the Info tab and see it had somehow snuck past my notice and was already applied. Must have been one of my late night random idea builds on Friday that caught it. I'm really psyched to get several of the new round pieces- the 6x6 round Plate, the 4x4 round plate with 2x2 round hole, the 2x2 round tile with the hole in the middle, and especially the 2x2 truncated cone (the R-5 Droid head- I'm particularly interested in the fact its available in plain black- I hope to see that option show up in real life son.). Also getting the 1x2x1x2 reverse bracket and the Mixels joints is awesome, Bummer theres still no Minidolls though.

I'm also having the issue with legacy colors bumping regular colors outside the top frame of the color palatte.

As long as we're discussing desired changes, I've got a few- I'm painfully nearsighted, and partly color-blind. On the nearsighted issue, at my current desktop resolution, even at max zoom, the previe parts are about 10mm across, so it's very difficult for me to make out some details, I'd love some way to show a larger preview, 20-25mm would be ideal.

On the Color-blind issue, in a previous version of LDD, I could build my MOC in any color (I usually work in light gray to start with), and then was able to choose a color in the palatte and use the paint bucket to apply that color to all valid parts- I don't know who decided to drop that feature, but I bitterly miss it. A separate option, I'm not sure which one would be easier to implement, might just be to add a tooltip in the parts preview indicating the color.

What is a '90s brick base? I thought those bases for castles, but I didn't find such things.

I'm talking about bricks in such sizes as 4x12, 8x16, or 12x24. I realize that my terminology probably wasn't totally clear; I called them that since my primary experience with them was as the bases to '90s castle sets in themes like Fright Knights, Ninja, or the early Harry Potter sets. I wasn't talking about raised baseplates, which are still totally absent from LDD.

The silly thing is that they're not even new to this version; I just thought they were since they weren't there the last time I needed them (which was probably more than three updates ago, when I still tended to build old sets on LDD for Eurobricks).

What I love about this update, is that the CMF and other decorations are now avaible to apply via decoration tool. It opens oh-so-much possibilities! Except I can't decorate the Bagpiper's kilt/Pretzel Girl's skirt.....

Yey! The old technic seat is there and the old brick separator tool is added too, this is one good update,

Still wishing for technic steering elements, and the 'technic/lego sports' spring box

Also the technic axle flexible 26L, but so it can be dismantled like you can the mini Linear Actuator Trick, so you can use the axle ends on their own, but that is a big ask

The small end of the flexi-axle is almost the inverse of this 11214.jpg

PS, how did you get all those legacy colors up in the palette. mine is different to this.

I'd second that question. I'm only seeing the 'original' set of legacy colours rather than the much larger palette that the above screenshots are showing. I do have all of the CMF decorations so brickset 1392 has been applied.

I'm amazed by you guys asking how I get so many legacy colors.... If I knew, I 'll disable it, because since I can't access the regular colors, I can't finish my current project. :sceptic:

It's a strange thing! Finally, now all works fine and I have the regular colors palette ( solid colors, metal and legacy ).

Maybe for you worth to uninstall LDD and run a fresh installation?

Strange indeed... I'll do that.

For those interested, I've put the list of all the legacy colors I got here

Edit: Just finished updating LDD at work, and the same thing happens...

The colour issue seems to be only happening in normal LDD-mode, it is normal under extended LDD-mode (just checked myself).

I'm sorry for you! Now my Ldd is in a looped update on current pc.

When I run it, it continues to receiving data. Then, it run normally but with previous brickset version.

When I quit and restart it, still starts the update.

I have LDD running fine with tha last brickset on other two laptops.

The way the color works in normal mode is strange now - you have to turn the filter off and then the standard colors appear as little pallets above your bricks.

Has anyone worked out how to make this version just display all black bricks, or all dark bluish grey bricks, like the previous version?

I don't like working in extended mode because you end up designing in parts that aren't available.

It would be nice if the Legacy colors in the Normal Mode could be used in Extended Mode as well. The color selector panel could really use a scroll bar like the decoration panels.

Since 99% of my MOCs are minifigs, I have to say that this is a fantastic and very pleasing update.

You can still color multiple parts at once, but you have to select the color while the bricks are highlighted.

So the new update has introduced us to a new torso print that will be included in a yet unannounced City set.

Funny. There are some other textures that they switched as well, though this is the most notable.

Is the small technic shock absorber working for anyone?

I can not select it from the side menu and every file I load that has this part it gets removed.

Done a full reinstall including deleting the the folder in appdata and the problem persists.

It's not perfect, but that's super useful. The scrollbar keeps freezing, it doesn't scroll using the mousewheel, and the images are pretty small - minor usability things, but some of those lists (torsos, for instance) are pretty extensive.

Something I noticed in the appdata folder after LDD failed to load some bricks, there was a file called unplacable bricks dump, it was a lfx file of the model I tried to load except it was all yellow and the bricks missing were red.

I'm not sure exactly what your remark has to do with the latest brickset? That type of file has been created in the appdata folder for many versions of LDD whenever you try to load a file with unplacable bricks. Do a search here in the forum, and I you'll find a lot of good info about the file, and how you can use it to identify the parts being removed.
