Hi all,

I would like to share with you all my new ride, Disney's Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

The model is made of 462 bricks and uses a Power Functions M motor and battery box. No speed control elements are required. Each elephant can accommodate 1 rider.

Mechanically the ride is the same as the Dumbo ride produced by a well known American building toy manufacturer. Two turntables (driven by a crown gear) turn the elephants in one direction and a cam in the other. The elephants are raised and lowered as the ride rotates.

I am planning to make more amusement park rides and attractions having been inspired by the forthcoming 10244 Fairground Mixer set.

Enjoy the photos. Here is a link to a video of the ride in motion. https://flic.kr/p/nufWFk

Enjoy! :)

Great job on the ride.

The posting of all of these theme park rides recently has made me want to mess with LDD and build my own rides.

This looks really good!

I do see potential for the ability to make the elephants rise up and down (if they don't already? I can't see how they can at this point in time?) with the simple addition of either some cheese slopes and tiles just outside the square of technic in as much of a circle shape as possible, or with the use of some 1x3 sloping bricks, allowing the technic beams to simply rest on them rather than the string holding them up?

Either way, such a novel idea!

*edit*

Oh my, such a simple idea, I have just seen how you have offset the central point with the thick 1x2 technic beam making them rise up and down. Nice job!
