Posted May 5, 201410 yr What is brick slopes? Brick Slopes is a Lego Fan event held in Utah, similar to brick world. I wasn't sure what to expect, because this is it's first year, and there don't seem to be a ton of AFOLS in this area, but it turned out to be a success. I was really hoping for some Technic, but there just wasn't very much. Nothing really out of the ordinary. Some more.... This was probably one of my favorite things there. Has anybody seen this before? It seems like somebody posted something similar to this a couple weeks ago. The model railroads there were very impressive. This is the most impressive model of the Avengers Helicarrier I've ever seen. This picture doesn't even come close to giving it justice. BrickMania had their show stopping coastal battle display. They were also there selling some cool stuff. It was so cool to see this stuff in real life. Some more collections.... Another cool thing at the show was the star wars display. Different people all signed up to bring different sets from the years. Every Star Wars set ever produced was on display there. Modern Brick Warfare was also there selling stuff. This was by far the tallest thing there... the Barad-dûr. Shish kabobs anyone? Thanks for reading, and if you liked this review, please considering subscribing to my youtube channel. (https://www.youtube....andonsnxtnstuff) I'll be posting some more detailed updates on the individual models as soon as possible. -The Avengers Helicarrier -StarWars through the years -Brick Mania coastal battle scene -Base Runner (Hopefully) -Railroad layout Any questions or comments, I'd like to hear. May 5, 201410 yr I also attended Brick Slopes. I thought it was pretty cool. I agree it would have been cool to see more technic stuff there though.
May 5, 201410 yr Looks like a nice event! Great that you shared your pictures! And I agree; that helicarrier looks awesome!
May 6, 201410 yr Wow, another EB'r attended. Next time we need to have some activity that will let us make the real-life to forum connection. My pictures are in my announcement thread. Steve
May 8, 201410 yr I had wanted to attend (I live down the street in Happy Valley), but work and other stuff made for too busy a weekend. Better luck next time.
May 8, 201410 yr Thanks for posting my Bob's Kabobs truck!!! I took parts from 70812, LEGO Movie set Creative Ambush, combined with an old trailer set, plus a few pieces from my general collection, to create it. BrickSlopes was a blast!!! I'd echo your sentiments about getting more builders out there. Utah has some fine AFOLs!!!! mickychas (Michael Harrod)
May 9, 201410 yr Looks like it was fun. Hopefully it will be bigger and better next year. Nice to see your Bob's Kabob truck Mike, I thought I recognized it.
June 4, 201410 yr I went as well. (That's actually me in the bottom right corner of the first image. =D) It was pretty good for the very first year of something I didn't expect to even happen, and there were some good builds as well. This was by far the tallest thing there... the Barad-dûr Also, That's not Barad-dûr, that's the tower of Orthanc. Another cool thing at the show was the star wars display. Different people all signed up to bring different sets from the years. Every Star Wars set ever produced was on display there. Also-also, they weren't. I thought so too, but after some time of searching I never found the one Star Wars set I own, 8009 TECHNIC R2D2. (And while it could be argued that that's a TECHNIC set, the box art marketed it as a Star Wars set, and even if it is a TECHNIC set, it's at least about half Star Wars.) (And I also didn't see 10188 Death Star there, so yeah. J=) Edited June 4, 201410 yr by Hypernova888
