Suppose I want to buy most parts to build the 8466 off-roader. The normal way would be to build a list of parts, upload it to bricklink and then search for vendors.

Now, rather than entering all of the 1000+ parts, suppose I have the 4 PP wheels+tires + some suspension parts, and all I want is everything else.

Question is: Can I start with a full inventory, remove parts I already have, then submit the remaining parts to e.g. Brickficiency?

If so, anyone can give some step-by-step details?

1. Find your set at rebrickable.com

2. Use the "Import/Export options" drop-down list. Or simply use the "Add to your Bricklink Wanted List" link below the vendors list.

actually there seems to be more 8466 on ebay than ever at the moment and probably cheaper than buying the parts (used for used equivalent, new parts is a different story)

Thank you guys ... as for 8466, it was just an example (and I do have one) ... I have few other sets in mind though.

I think you can do this directly on bricklink, convert a set's inventory into a new wanted list and remove what you have.

I also highly recommend brickstore. I couldn't live without it. Once you get the hang of it you will realize how quickly you can manipulate anything to your liking....except prices of course.
