DrJB Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Suppose I want to buy most parts to build the 8466 off-roader. The normal way would be to build a list of parts, upload it to bricklink and then search for vendors. Now, rather than entering all of the 1000+ parts, suppose I have the 4 PP wheels+tires + some suspension parts, and all I want is everything else. Question is: Can I start with a full inventory, remove parts I already have, then submit the remaining parts to e.g. Brickficiency? If so, anyone can give some step-by-step details? Quote
EV3Noob Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 1. Find your set at rebrickable.com 2. Use the "Import/Export options" drop-down list. Or simply use the "Add to your Bricklink Wanted List" link below the vendors list. Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) I would suggest to use BrickStore http://www.brickforg...are/brickstore/ Import BrickLink Set Inventory for 8466 and remove the parts you already own. Then export the remainder to a new BL wanted list. It is more or less self explanatory ;-) Edited May 7, 2014 by Theo van Vroenhoven Quote
beartrapper Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 This is also something I've wanted to know, thanks for the suggestions! Quote
Rockbrick Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 actually there seems to be more 8466 on ebay than ever at the moment and probably cheaper than buying the parts (used for used equivalent, new parts is a different story) Quote
DrJB Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Thank you guys ... as for 8466, it was just an example (and I do have one) ... I have few other sets in mind though. Quote
S.I Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I think you can do this directly on bricklink, convert a set's inventory into a new wanted list and remove what you have. Quote
nychase Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I also highly recommend brickstore. I couldn't live without it. Once you get the hang of it you will realize how quickly you can manipulate anything to your liking....except prices of course. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Thanks for all the information in this thread, it has given me some ideas. Quote
