Dorayaki Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Why does a sequel have to involve Finn? We could actually have a female child as the kid and still have most or all of the same LEGO themes, but start from Friends town (I know it has a name, but I can't remember it... Is it Heartlake?) and progress from there through the other themes. Maybe her dad is an AFOL and she brings her minifigs/minidolls downstairs to incorporate into the story. Well... "a sequel that Finn doesn't involve with" equals to "a story that is not doing with TLM1", because other people don't even know Emmet's presense. Yes, the plot writers may come up with a new group of main characters to replace the previous ones, though not knowing how it works. If the sequel has to continue the same headcanon but in a different perspective, at least Finn has to tell the story to others and continue it together. Some people like to see Finn's "dark age", so it could also be that Finn's sister growes up, takes over all his assets and continues his story. And then she tries to revive her brother's passion for LEGO. Gali or Nokama from Bionicle would be awesome. Plus the minor fact they don't actually have the rights to Spongebob any more They were actually going to put in a standalone Duplo minifigure as a character in this original script, appropriately speaking in extremely simple terms, and there was of course that Duplo reference in 'Brick Like Me' where the younger, baby character (Maggie) is one of the figures ("They're so cute when they're Duplo!"). To be honest, besides using up older and unused themes (that kind of sounds unlikely in itself), I can kind of only see them using Jack Stone ironically, much less they also use someone like Clutch Powers. Besides, why not just make your own? Depends on what you mean, you want to see action figures, or their minifigure miniatures? It's hard to say, maybe Spongebob would return to LEGO during the long production period, but I'm not confident with this. I forgot the original script had this this idea. But I guess simply having a Duplo figure wouldn't work better than having Uni-kitty or other Fabuland figures, which all represent cuteness among the characters. Yes, I made one of them, but we're not talking about my own ideal dream and unofficial roster of Master Builders. Tina is the only heroine from 4-plus figures, but I doubt TLM would consider to include her. Edited May 12, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote

Robert8 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 There were just a few female minifigures before 2000, so I don't remember any relevant lady returning in The LEGO Movie Sequel. The only ones I can think of are Pippin Reed from Adventurers and Jet from Rock Raiders. The females minifigures in the film will probably be new characters. Quote

I'm the bigger fan between my husband and myself. (he had a few Legos as a kid. I have kept all my Legos as a kid, and as a young adult. and spend my spending money on them now..) Hopefully for more female historical people, original for the film, and fictional characters in yellow, not only just Cleopatra alone. We need Marie Antoinette, Dorothy, Artemis (Greek Goddess), Mona Lisa, and a Kitty Suit Girl. Edited March 16, 2015 by legofanatic12 Quote
Dorayaki Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Licensed (Only Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox, not from Disney and Nickelodeon) Minifigures series Original for the film In order to not make this topic going too far, here is special theme discussion and we could only discuss the possible additions to future LEGO products, or this has to be transferred to Multimedia forum.Licensed characters are mostly available already, although in the movie I expect to see another licensed lady get spotlights. Retunees from retired LEGO themes would interest more AFOLs, I think. Quote
Blakstone Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 When this thread was necroed, I wasn't very interested. I think The LEGO Movie had very strong characters in both Emmet and Wildstyle. Both grew and involved throughout the film. So I agree that TLM2 should have other strong female characters, though I really want Lucy to return. I don't have a preference which existing, classic, or even video game minifig should be used in the new film. Marie Antoinette Joan of Arc Mona Lisa Artemis (Greek Goddess of Hunting, not the one from Young Justice) But I like the idea of female historic figures showing like like Abraham Lincoln, Shakespeare, and Michelangelo did in the first film. I would love if TLM2 gave us any of these in minifig form. Quote
