Posted May 11, 201410 yr Waiting for the coming (??) larger radius curves in Metal, I have started to modify some tracks to 1/2 curves & straights, 3/4 straights, switches etc etc in order to have some smoother curves, following the guidelines from OnDrew J Hartigan. So,now it is time to build a bunch of 1/4 straights. He writes "the only time you shouldn't remove the metal rail is track sections shorter than 5 studs"... My question is, how to modify the metal rail, to make it have a good connection to the other tracks ?? If this question has been discussed i this forum earlier, I would appreciate a link. /Leif
May 11, 201410 yr Not sure of a link but I just then the middle section out, glue the track on the underside and solder the top rail. Then file down if rough
May 14, 201410 yr Author .... and solder the top rail. Then file down if rough Thanks for your solution. But I was thinking more of a way without soldering, after all it's plastic stuff, and I don't know if the plastic is going to bend or melt or whatever ... Maybe I should try to connect a 1/4 piece of straight rail with a halv curve to make the same final size ( 1/2 curve + 1/4 straight track) ?? Or wait for the ME-project to come avaiable, and save my straight metal tracks, for better purposes /Leif
