Dfenz Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Just opened my black bag. I hope the person sorting the 1x6 yellow bricks isn't a Lugbulk sorter for his/her LUG ! I am also missing 34 of these! Also missing were 2x 1x12 yellow bricks 10 1x4 yellow bricks 1 2x2 green plate 2 green hinge plates 3 yellow 2x2 corner plates 2 yellow 2x2 corner bricks 1 6x6 bley plate Extras included 1 horse - from winter market village 24 1x1 yellow tiles 1 2x2 inverted slope 1 1x3 yellow brick 1 1x1 red headlight brick 1 2x4 green plate 1 1x1 yellow cheese slope 1 2x1 yellow slope 4 inverted slope 1 73 slope yellow 1x2x3 1 1x1 brick with stud on side 1 1x2 inverted slope black Quote
Cecilie Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Dfenz, your list of missing and extras sounds suspiciously identical to mine . I wonder if there has been some math errors somewhere... Quote
Calanon Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 I think I should fully go through the set to see if mine matches... Quote
I Scream Clone Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Well I guess you get what you pay for :P I was one of the helpers on the 1x6 bricks. I know 2/3 of bags got the full 50, then we ran out. It seems on the second day when we got a resupply, every bag got 16 instead of 50 for the bags that had none. So you either get 66 or 16 Quote
Legogal Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 ISC, That makes a lot of sense to me. 66 and 16 are both round numbers, what the heck, a couple of bricks here or there doesn't make much difference does it? Could the quality of sorting have something to do with the time of day? Number of empty bottles on the tables? Hunger levels of the sorters? Hummmm, Can't wait to see what is in my bag because the parts I sorted had some of the screwiest trails....let's try 52, naw 16, maybe 32, how about taking 8 out of some of them. 22 could be the right number, too. Holy crap! Needless to say, we could see some serious differences in the finished product if everyone builds with just the bricks they received! Warning: This calls for a very laid back building approach, you OCD's. Quote

Calanon Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Maybe if we ever get a free Lego set that we all have to sort ourselves in the future we should open the bags and check we have the pieces before going home. Quote
Rick Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Based on the parts list at the end of the manual, I'm missing: 34 yellow 1 x 6 bricks 10 yellow 1 x 4 bricks 2 yellow 1 x 12 bricks 2 yellow 2 x 2 corner bricks 3 yellow 2 x 2 corner plates 1 green 2 x 2 plate 2 green hinge plates 1 light grey 6 x 6 plate Which is a pretty familiar list. Dfenz Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) Dfenz, your list of missing and extras sounds suspiciously identical to mine . I wonder if there has been some math errors somewhere... While I haven't checked Bfenz's yet its obvious that she has extra yellow 1x6's like Ace and L@go had - looks like 16 at a glance although i haven't raided her bag fully yet. WhiteFang Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 The completed Castle! Finally completed and it is a beauty! Quote
WhiteFang Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Do a Fangtastic review Fangy! A simple one is definitely possible! Link Quote
Legogal Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) Wow! Wonderful photos, Fangy! Hmmm, Your castle looks a lot better than mine, but following pictorial directions written for ages over four years has never been my strong point. (Maybe that is why I so love Duplo!) Thanks Dfenz but since you have used the word "raid" in your post - I think I'll check my own bag B, do you have a good secret hiding place to sequester your yellow castle parts until you know who's is built? Sounds like it is time to call in your own personal Viking squad to protect your village from a raid. Good luck. (I am on standby with tons of unused, new yellow parts in case you get in a jam. And hundreds of unemployed, shiftless knights, trolls, cowboys, aliens, and other meanies in case it is time to call in the heavy guns.) On a separate note, it is fortunate that weeee pitiful sorters don't worth in a LEGO factory as the company would have gone under for sure in its first year of existence. Shouldn't our castle be looking the same? Even though I did make some mistakes in my built as pointed by Calanon. Quote
Holodoc Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I finished my castle some days ago. When I wanted to make a nice photo of it, this happened: Well, it is a bit waggly and when you want to pick it up from somewhere, be advised to put at least another baseplate underneath. But now - reconstructed with the AFOL instructions - I can show you the true beauty it is. Quote
iamwhoiam Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I thought it was already collectively agreed upon that we'd blame Canada? Sorry, It's all our fault, we were tired of being so polite and friendly. Quote
Chocolatecake Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Finally! I have build mine too. There were missing parts, but most of them could be replaced with yellow bricks from my collection of yellow bricks (those basic brick boxes are quite useful ) Oh... And I build it on day that is just as grey, wet and cold as the days in Billund. Quote
CopMike Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Oh... And I build it on day that is just as grey, wet and cold as the days in Billund. That´s the way to do it - get into that Xmas Billund sprit ! Quote

Legogal Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Yup, when I remember EB 2014 in Billund, cold rain is the first thing that always comes to my mind. Once I returned home, at night I even dreamed that my new yellow castle would float away in the rain. I think I stopped counting each day after it had rained ten different times, and sometimes that was before noon. And it was a very cold rain for May. I shivered through at least two nights in our unheated cabin wearing all the clothes I could get into at one time. I blame the freezing nights on hubby's not being able to attend; next time I may have to take an electric blanket or stay in some place with real heat... as in a thermostat that goes up to at least 70 degrees F. (And a real tub with hot water to end the chills.) The day we were in the Park, it seemed like I ended up shivering for the next 24 hours or so. If it has to rain so much, could they at least make it warm rain a la Singapore? WhiteFang and Kim must have frozen to death coming from the tropics. ( I do recall being that cold and wet in 1991 while waiting in line to ride the Pirate Ships at Paris Disxxx. My three year old son was sitting on my shoulders, and he was drenched, too, as there were no dry areas to wait for rides. Maybe that is one reason I am not big on theme parks.) Choc, Glad you finally got to build your remake of the yellow castle. Did it dry out before you put it together? I did not hear your teeth chattering in the bunk above me, so I guess you are used to cold rain... being Danish. The morning I left for the airport at 3.45 am, I was worried that our cabin had floated away after it rained all night, too. Phew! Quote
