Posted May 12, 201410 yr [Review] 30246: Imperial Shuttle (mini) Details: Ages 6-12 RRP: N/A Parts: 59 Introduction: There are lots of disadvantages about living in the UK; the climate, the weather, winter and endless congestion to name just a few, but just occasionally it’s all worthwhile. For some reason we seem to get a free Lego promotion a couple of times a year via one of the national newspapers. And yes, you’ve guessed it, this week we have another selection including the new Imperial Shuttle. To be honest, it’s never going to be a UCS 10212, but for 60p (the cost of the paper) I’m really quite impressed. So what do you get for such a reasonable investment, read on and find out.... The bag: Standard size polybag, showing the Shuttle in it’s glory, which is actually quite similar to the UCS version thinking about it! The landing platform and dish were the only highlights of Endor for me, but moving on... Part selection: A total of 57 (ish) including two spares. Nothing that amazing, but a nice mix of useful parts. Instructions: Standard format for polybags, it’s a bit smaller than A4 and double-sided. The model is built in 13 separate sections and is quite fun considering the small size, a maximum of 5 minutes effort. I’ve included both sides just incase you wanted to replicate it via your parts bin. The result: Bearing in mind this was essentially free (I use the paper for my recycling bin) I can’t fault it. It’s quite an interesting build and is instantly recognisable. The model is quite sturdy, and great fun to swoosh. Highly recommended if you haven’t got the space for a larger version! Summary: Cost: 5/5 – A total bargain Parts: 4/5 – Nothing special but a good selection of different elements Built: 3/5 – Not bad considering the limited size Model: 3/5 – Instantly recognisable, surprisingly detailed Overall 15/20 or 75% if you prefer.
May 12, 201410 yr AAARRRGGHHH! I knew I should have got it today. I have the spider glider and the police interceptor, BUT I COULDN'T GET THIS ONE!!!!! Rage over, this is a nice set for a star wars collector, and I'll probably BL it.
May 12, 201410 yr I got this, and the spider glider. The robot police thing's paper wasn't distributed locally to me for some bizarre reason - so I missed out. Great review though - shows off the set nicely. The last picture reminds me of "permission to land like a deinty butterfly" scene from family guy!
May 12, 201410 yr Great review! I think the previous versions was better, m ostly the cockpit. This flat design is just not right
May 14, 201410 yr it will fit perfect with the new palpatine fig (new DK book) in a 'planet serie' set
May 21, 201410 yr Another great review, Lobot, this is probably the best of the polybags we got this spring.
