I have been attempting to make a MOC of the new DRS Class 68 and am just looking for a few hints and tips, I've done a few buildings and bridges etc but never attempted a train before, I do have a good idea on the main bulk of it but the only bit I can see being of any real difficulty would be trying to get that slightly sloping front end to work.

I'm also thinking of making the Alstom AGV and new Eurostar if this is a success.

Wow, you've chosen a seriously awkward front end to model!

I'd suggest (assuming you already have Lego Digital Designer,if not, download it now, it's free!), just looking through all the available curved bits and angled/hinged bits until you find a combo that works. Trial and error is a wonderful thing!

Best tip I can give you is to just get started. Chances are your first attempt will look rubbish so take it apart and try again. Then once you've tried a few things post some pictures with a more specific question than 'how do I model this train'.

To be fair it wasn't a how do I do this model question it was more a few tips on how to do it, I've the main body done it's just the front I'm struggling with, I'll post a few pictures up later when I'm on my laptop again.

I'm using LDD @Redimus it's what I've used with my buildings and what not, trial and error is always the best way but sometimes getting input from fellow enthusiasts can shed a new light onto something. Thanks for the tips though and yeah you're right about the tricky front end, always up for a challenge though.

Maybe you can post pics of what the train you're trying to replicate looks like and how far you gotten?

In the may issue of rail express magazine there are some scale drawings with diffrent detail photos. Good luck
