Ooc: I take it that you have still not learnt socially acceptable behavior. I would try and say something nice or redeeming but in response to that, I can't think of anything suitable whilst at the same time conveying that saying things like that is a dick move. K-Nut Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Althior follows Sarge's example, and attempts to find another street performer to watch inconspicuously. In case I can't post tomorrow, I'm leaving on vacation Monday and won't return until the following Monday. I assume I'll probably have internet access, but in case I do not, Khorne can control Althior until I return. Quote
Khorne Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Like his questmates, Eric made sure his appearance looked ragged enough to pass as a bum and then decided to hit the streets, hoping the crowd would cover his presence in Vega. Quote

Sandy Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 The four heroes on the run blended into the crowd watching the street performers on the Main Square the best they could. Orokai and Walbartan had more trouble disguising themselves so they kept out of the square. Suddenly the doors to the Château des Coeurs swung open and a furious looking lady in all-red marched out, followed by Captain Buwakhareen and their earlier guide, Periwinkle. "Madame, I really don't think you should rush like this!" "Your opinions are the last thing I need, Peri!" shouted the lady in a high-pitched masculine voice. Periwinkle dashed in front of the "woman", stopping her. "But your fragile heart..." "My heart is in shatters already! My sister has been murdered, and I will find the culprit even if it kills me!" The madame then slapped the girl so hard she fell to the ground. "Never step in my way again, trollop!" The madame and the captain of the guard had continued their way to the Emerald Palace, leaving Periwinkle sobbing on the ground. It just so happened that the girl had fallen right in front of Eric's feet. Inside the palace, Roland Emeraldo descended from his balcony to greet the furious madame of the brothel. "Glimda! My deepest condolences on this dreadful night..." "Cut the crap, Roland! I need to see some heads roll. Have you caught the culprits." Roland glanced at Captain Buwakhareen, raising an eyebrow. "Bufkin is on to it, aren't you?" "We are searching, but so far we haven't found the dwarf's companions. The gates are closed, so nobody will be able to..." "You ignorant baboon!" Glimda LaRouge roared. "There are countless ways out of this city, both under and over your precious walls! If the murderers get out of this city, I'll rip your wings off and make a mantlepiece out of them! Now, where is this dwarf you spoke of?" The madame turned her eyes on Throlar. "Is it you? Why are you here with a drink in your hand, instead of out there looking for your bloodthirsty friends? Are you trying to buy them more time to escape?!" What will Throlar respond? Quote
Khorne Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 When the blonde woman fell at Eric's feet, he quickly disregarded Althior's cautious words not to mingle in the affairs of others, especially companions. The Nord grinned and let out a slight chuckle. He got on his knee and helped Periwinkle get up. With a warm smile he cheekily said to her: "Yeah, I tend to get that effect on women sometimes." As the woman looked up to him he noticed her tears. Eric drew Periwinkle closer to him and tried to console her, softly doing away with her tears with the back of his hand. "Hush, hush, now. No need to cry. Are you alright? What seems to be the matter?" The Nord tried to act genuinely interested in the girl, perhaps he would be able to lower her price if he managed to console her or solve any of her problems. Or perhaps she might be of use to him in solving the mess he and the party were in. In any case, it probably couldn't hurt getting the hot blonde on his side. Quote

"Being snotty does not help your case, dwarf. But who would hire an assassin to kill my sweet Grimelda? She has never hurt anyone in her life. It makes no sense!" "I am aware of the secret passages, Master Wineghilm. It was I who raised this city from a simple trading post to the brilliant nexus of the Darklands, all in a matter of few years." He quickly makes an appeasing gesture at Glimda. "With a little help from a few of my friends, of course." "Every house will be searched and all routes out blocked. It makes no sense!" "I don't think anybody hired anybody, I'll explain." "You see this assassin told us (yes she [yes, the assassin was a she] actually stopped to try and get us on her side) that, damn this is complicated, your sister used to be a member of the Red Assassins, but she had left them (something that ought to have resulted in death) and she began to work for a group called the Wolfgang, and Loc the assassin appeared to have something against people who decide to leave the Assassins and against the Wolfgang as well. Anyway she also said that Grimelda had put something in our drinks and the assassin thought that your sister was trying to poison us, a search of the premises and the crops recovered this flask," Agin he held up the blasted sedative, "it's not poison however, it seems to be some kind of knockout mixture, my companions also found a letter on your sister's corpse that, I'm sorry to say this, proved the truth of Loc's story, the letter is currently in the possession of my 'friends' whom may soon die in the fires of your wrath or somesuch. I have no idea what happened to the assassin herself, one of my companions scared her off and she disappeared in a cloud of smoke, and if anyone says anything about ninja I will pound him or her into unconsciousness. And I don't think guarding the exits will work, the only one me or my companions know about is the gate, and they'll probably take to disguises and go out one at a time, the only ones that you'll be able to catch that way are the ones that stick out like sore thumbs, the green giant and the pongcanis, the rest'll be harder to find, I'd suggest combing the alleyways. Also, one of us, the necromancer, a man dressed entirely in black, is always accompanied by a strange blue floaty aura thing that he uses as some sort of pack mule, and the norseman in the group was... interested in one of your girls earlier, blonde, wearing blue lipstick* and a black dress, the other mage had very dark skin, you'll find him if you look hard enough, and finally the last member of the group is very old, has a peg leg, and talks as if he was constantly inebriated." I am a man from the North. I drift from one place to another. The seas and the northern continent are my home. Here, I have no allegiance nor binds. I go where I want or where the winds take me. I am a free man. I am a Viking and I take what I want." He pulled Periwinkle closer to him in a bossy, but non-aggressive, manner and paused briefly. "Right now, I want to take you."
