Dragonfire Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Sandy, I'm really sorry but due to unexpected RL events I may have to pull out of this quest. I just won't have enough time to check in and me simply leaving would be better than inactive-me staying for roleplay purposes etc. Maybe you could find a replacement hero. Bye, guys. Really sorry. Hope to see you on some other quest. None of the others noticed Avalanche's unconscious body being dragged into an alleyway by a hooded man. When they looked around after the battle, Avalanche was nowhere to be seen. Quote

"Aye, he has," said Throlar in as low a voice as he can manage, "He's trying to make himself king of some city on Uland, but we'll talk about him later, we have an idiotic jack-in-office to deal with first." Then, his voice returning to it's original volume he spoke to the dock master in words of consolation. "Hell if I know, ask those three over there, they started it." said Throlar pointing toward Eric and Sarge, and then he noticed something. "Hey, where'd the yeti go?" Quote
Khorne Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Eric grunted as he drove Godricsleif through the automaton's body. He smirked. "Maybe we can sell him to the Tritech company for spare parts and turn a profit?", he said to no-one in particular. With his foot he rummaged between the parts to see if the robot had any of those peculiar cards on him, but it was to no avail. Eyeing the loot the party had gathered, the Nord picked up the body armor and knocked on it a few times, turning it around in his hands to find out the quality. "If no-one minds, I'll take this. Else, I'm also happy to get some gold or the nostrum." He then turned to the Dockmaster and ignoring Throlar's statement, Eric simply shrugged and said: "Meh, they couldn't take a joke." Quote

I don't care, as long as there's something of a profit in it for me". Underlining his egoist nature, Eric pointed his thumb at his chest as he finished his sentence. "I'd think it was something more than a joke judging by the ferocity of their attack." "I was there, Dwarf. It was simply their inability to take a joke. Perhaps they were already mindless before Althior turned them into his minions." Eric then took the letter in his hands and read it, silently mumbling its words. His eyes flickered with mischief. With a huge grin he said, "Even more reason for us to head to Vega. Let's go collect "our" reward and meet "our" liaison." Both times he said "our", he made finger quotes in the air. "Oh, the money to be made here", the sly Nord thought to himself. EDIT: Eric tossed the old Sarge one of his Grand Potions. He simply nodded in a sort-of respectful way, but didn't say much else about it. When the Sarge handed Eric Conspirator, the Nord's eyes widened greatly and for a minute he seemed both stunned, surprised and somewhat shocked, but he very quickly regained his arrogant posture and signature grin. He took the sword in his hands and let his fingers slide alongside its edge. "Conspirator, Reno's blade...", he muttered, "...where did you get it?". Examining the blade further, he noticed that the amethyst was missing. The weapon must've switched many hands along its way. Edited June 3, 2014 by Khorne Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) EDIT: Eric tossed the old Sarge one of his Grand Potions. "Got it off some monk. Pretzel. Anyway, you can keep it if yer stop being such a twat to meself. The others though...." "Don't be stupid, firstly, there are already more that four of us, secondly, this liaison probably already knows what the people he is supposed to meet look like, and indeed might have already met them at some point, thirdly, these people probably already know what we look like, and I'm not willing to take a chance on it being otherwise, fourthly, it's a stupid idea anyway, and fifthly, We are discussing this within two feet of two people we know nothing about without bothering to lower our voices!" "We could 'Pretend' to take the dwarf prisoner so we can act as if we were lot what just died?" Sarge pauses "Or kill 'im and use is body as proof we are them. Either way it'd be fun to pretend to be wolfgang." Edited June 3, 2014 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Sandy Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 "Meh, they couldn't take a joke." "A joke?! You might consider sparring a joke wherever you come from, but here in Dim Haven we value peace and quiet above all. Now what is it that you want?" "Simply a passage to the surface, Dockmaster." The Dockmaster sizes up the heroes, and apparently decides that he's not one to get in their way. "If that's what it takes to get rid of you lot as soon as possible, then let me just grab my key... My key?!" The Dockmaster pats his pockets, checks his belt, then runs back to his office and returns a little later. "The key to the tunnel is missing!" He then frowns. "And I think I know exactly who took it. Follow me!" The Dockmaster takes the party to the door that leads into the tunnel connecting the grotto to the mainland. Just as he suspected, it was left ajar. "Aha! It's my little brother Brock. For a long time, he has had this idiotic notion of travelling to Vega and becoming a Decamon Master. Now he went and did it, stealing my key when I was distracted by my cards. I am positive he took that fishy friend of his, Cally Fisher, with him. That girl is madly in love with my fool of a brother." "I fail to see how this has anything to do with me or these gentlemen." "You don't understand, it's dangerous out there in the dark! There's also a storm brewing up in the plains. Please, you look like a capable bunch. Bring back my brother safely to me, and I'll reward you. He couldn't have gotten far." Walbartan turns to the heroes with a helpless look on her furry face. "I can't help my compassionate heart, I must help this man out. Will you join me?" The way outside is wide open. What will the party do? Quote
Khorne Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 "Got it off some monk. Pretzel. Anyway, you can keep it if yer stop being such a twat to meself. The others though...." "Pretzel. That weird, old monk who can't stop yammering about his god and with a strange desire to condemn everything and everyone that's not to his liking? Yeah, I've met him before...him and his greasy paws." Eric shuddered at the distant thought of having had to hold the monk's hand when a Genie transported them during a quest a long time ago. "We could 'Pretend' to take the dwarf prisoner so we can act as if we were lot what just died?" Sarge pauses "Or kill 'im and use is body as proof we are them. Either way it'd be fun to pretend to be wolfgang." "Hehehe, I hear you." Eric backed Sarge, as he eyed Throlar suspiciously. Eric was hardly interested in the story of the missing boy and his love interest and was about to turn his back on the fat man, but the mention of a reward and the central part the cards played in this story made him rethink that decision. "Ja, ja, we can help you look for that girl, boy, whatever..." The Nord did hope that this wouldn't take too much of their time, he was eager to get to Vega and see what the city of sin was like for real. Quote
