Well, that's the jester prominently featured in the MMO, and the white ones seem like alternate versions, so the purple one is all but confirmed. While a new hat would have been nice, it's the most original jester we've gotten so far.

That's an odd configuration of colors since it doesn't line up with any royal family to date.

We need evil phycho jesters as our rivals to existed royal jesters.

Methinks TLG leaned on the image's host to take it down. If so, it's a sure sign the image was of the CMF jester.

@8BrickMario & Dorayaki, There's nothing wrong with the existing LEGO fool's cap IMO, though a new mould, perhaps like BrickWarriors' one, would have been cool. I have a MOC 'death jester' as well as a few other MOC jesters. I was waiting for the CMF jester's release so I could photograph them all together, but I may take a pic of the ones I have now.

Well, the image is still there for me after reloading, and I got it from Brickipedia. It's no longer there in the "new photos" listing, though, so maybe I can see it because I'm the poster. I couldn't see the image on my phone when I wasn't signed in.

Would be disappointed if it was really that figure, but a good accessory could still save it.

The reason I don't like this one is not because of the hat but because of the colors. I wanted to make a scooby doo creation with the white ones and it's the color that bothers me on this one.

True, he's not as bad as some other CMFs. But what makes it disappointing for me is that it's just the same old jester, with a new print which doesn't match any faction, and, having failed that, isn't at least accurate to real-life jesters, and so is rather unexciting. I wonder what's the point of including him, since the CMFs are meant to include figs that wouldn't be made otherwise, and jesters have been made before. I guess his bio will reveal the sales pitch and thus the reason for his inclusion.

Actually, I was hoping for a Harlequin-style fig.

The purple looks like the old purple seen for example in late 90s TECHNIC sets. I'd love to see that color returning as I have never really liked the current dark purple.

The jester looks quite medicore. Gotta see the accesories to decide wether buy one or not.

EDIT: And hey, the pilot was awesome, one of TLG's best moustaches.

Some people seem to forget how subjective Lego is as a hobby. What you might consider weak could be a treasure to someone else.

I got an invite in the mail for the closed beta phase of the minifigure game, but when running the game I get this:

"The LEGO Minifigures client has encountered a problem and needs to close"

I mean, I didn't even get the chance to create the account... what the hell :l

It's true that historically jesters tended not to wear purple because purple (and blue) were expensive dyes reserved for the clothes of the most important people. Those colours came to symbolise importance in medieval art.

For the record, I quite like the purple and black design as well as the blue & red and red & white jesters TLG has produced before and BW's dark red parts.

I'm planning on grabbing one random unless there's one that I really like then i'll go specific and that's it for me. I have at least 1 each of series 1 - 11 so i'd like to maintain that trend.

Why do you consider the Lego Movie Series as a "licensing" one?

One thing you always could be sure about is the fact that prices never go down again ;)

Hopefully that jester comes with at least some new accessory or something. I'd hate to spend money just for the figure and it's headpiece.
