mccoyed Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Enough about global economics and exchange rates, where's the WhiteFang review of this series? Haha. Hear hear! Quote
BigPoppaBrick Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Enough about global economics and exchange rates, where's the WhiteFang review of this series? This, come on WhiteFang!!!...... Quote
TheLegGodt Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Yeah the review is just about due... Bit more than 2 weeks to go until they are officially released Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Except Spooky Girl, Genie Girl and Battle Goddess. Is Spooky Girl a monster? No, I am meaning real monsters, not spooky people. She is spooky and not a monster like a vampire, ghost or witch. The Battle Godess is not a mythical creature like a Minotaur or Mermaid. The Genie Girl is one but I just don't feel like its a creature or type of animal. I still think this series is kind of boring, but there are some minifigures that I am starting to like. Quote
obsidianheart Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Is Spooky Girl a monster? No, I am meaning real monsters, not spooky people. She is spooky and not a monster like a vampire, ghost or witch. I dunno, man. She might be an onryo. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 She is not a classic monster like the Mothman, the Headless Horseman or the Swamp Creature but it's a nice and unexpected addition to the monsters group in the CMF Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 There are three fantastical/unnatural characters in the series. A Greco-Roman goddess is certainly a mythical entity, the Spooky Girl is a horror-based concept, and the Genie Girl is obviously from fairy tales. And technically, the Princess's labeling marks her as fantasy, too. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I dunno, man. She might be an onryo. We'll, maybe I will get her just to use her for that, but I am going to have to replace the face with a skeleton head then. There are three fantastical/unnatural characters in the series. A Greco-Roman goddess is certainly a mythical entity, the Spooky Girl is a horror-based concept, and the Genie Girl is obviously from fairy tales. And technically, the Princess's labeling marks her as fantasy, too. Oh, what I am trying to mean is like mythical creatures like the Minotaur. Quote
stackables Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I was also hoping White Fang would have a review by now. I am pretty sure the spooky girl is suppose to be Wednesday or goth chic. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 There seems to be a whole lot of unfounded expectations about having Whitefang's review up already. I'm guessing that, if he had the figures in his hands (kind of a critical component to doing a comprehensive review, don't you think?) He would probably review them. Lego is kind enough to provide the figures early, and Whitefang is kind enough to devote the significant amount of time required to do his reviews, so I for one will be happy with it whenever it comes. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Well said. His reviews are great and very good for looks at the new parts, but people have elevated them to an unnecessary legendary status, which sort of prevents anyone else from making reviews of the CMFs. All in good time. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Well said. His reviews are great and very good for looks at the new parts, but people have elevated them to an unnecessary legendary status, which sort of prevents anyone else from making reviews of the CMFs. All in good time. Whitefang reviews ARE legendary. Would it be only because he has 14 series behind him. I may possibly understand they are not everyone's cup of tea, but I hardly imagine someone doing better than him. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I do like them, it just seems like ever since the first one, it's become his thing, and hyped up too much. The reviews really do tie the theme together, and have excellent pictures, and I do look forward to the next one, just perhaps less than others. I want to see if there are any double-sided heads! Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I think nobody ever forbid anyone in doing reviews... Quote
Blakstone Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Whitefang's reviews are more than just a tradition that we enjoy. Between being both exhaustively thorough and the fact that he gets them early, I don't see how anyone can compete. Not that I want to. But his review will go live when LEGO says it is okay and not before. He tells it like he sees it, but it is a promotion event for LEGO. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Yeah the review is just about due... Bit more than 2 weeks to go until they are officially released I don't think any of us should impose deadlines for WhiteFang. Anyways, isn't the release date October? If they were to be released in September, wouldn't the bios be up at least? Nobody knows what the bags look like, as well, so I think they won't be out for a while. I'm really hoping we get purple bags this time. Quote
Piranha Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Yeah the review is just about due... Bit more than 2 weeks to go until they are officially released The official release date is October 1st. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I believe we will likely have brown or dark purple bags. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Wasn't the color of this series confirmed to be yellow again? About WhiteFang's review, obviously we are all anxious to see the pictures and the review since we have waited for almost a year for the next regular series. But I'm a little more worried about what's coming next. I mean, Series 12 was confirmed back in december, 10 months before the official release date. Isn't it time of news about a possible Series 13? Quote
Anexcuse Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Does this mean anything? :S http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/2686824/Trail/searchtext%3ELEGO+MINIFIGURES.htm Quote

Isn't it time of news about a possible Series 13? That's a good point we have known the about the last 3 sets for some time but now no news Quote
just2good Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Yeah, the official color for this is yellow, as shown at the toy fair and a few catalogs. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Now the background in the Japanese catalog makes sense. But why yellow again? It looks too close to the S10 gold and S1 yellow. Quote
K-Nut Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I thought I saw somewhere where it seemed (to me) to be the Bright Light Orange (hazmat suit) color. But if LEGO continues making these figs into the far future then we definitely will see some repeats of colors. I just wouldn't expect that before they uses up purple and/or pink. Quote
