rodiziorobs Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Finally my local Target had these stocked...but at the $3.99 price, so I didn't get as many as I wanted: 1 each of Hun, Princess, Dino Tracker, Battle Goddess, and Prospector. I ended up checking every package (there were probably 30-35 total), but most of them were Gamers, Pizza Guys, or Genie Girls. At $3 a pop, I might have considered getting them, but that extra $1 made it not worth it. Already, to think I plunked down $20 for 5 figs seems hardly worth it. Although if there had been more Huns, I would have taken every one. Very impressed with the Hun, as expected, and the Battle Goddess was even better-I thought the helmet was all one piece, but having it as two separate parts is great! Dino Tracker is also better than expected, and while Princess is cute, she seems like the plainest of the bunch. Her hairpiece seems a tiny bit loose, as commented above, but similar to the old cowboy hat mold--certainly no worse. Prospector's hat is a little too comically large, but other than that I like him. Robert8 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) While feeling bags at the store, one guy told me he got a Hun Warrior without the shield Is that even possible? I think I've never heard of missing parts in the CMF. Edited October 30, 2014 by Robert8 Quote
legofanatic12 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I feel every bag before I bought it when I went home and I opened it, everything is complete. No scratches, no broken parts and no missing parts. Quote

Blakstone Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I never had one with a missing piece. However, I bought a random Series 2 pack to get free shipping on Amazon lately. The Pop Star had an extra microphone. So if LEGO could accidentally give me two, it is possible that someone was shorted one. Quote

Series 1 and 2 always gave an extra piece to the small accessories for some of the figures. They stopped doing that series 3 onwards. Anyways, I've never heard of a missing piece from a minifigure pack, but I guess it's possible. Quote
Thetford Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 So far, I have only noticed two places that stock them in the city centre of Birmingham, and one of them, WH Smiths, keeps them in the trays, on a high shelf behind the cashiers, and couldn't see a price displayed, and none on the shop floor. I didn't even want to bother inquiring, so I just wto the Tesco metro instead, who were still fairly well stocked, with one tray open, and another four I think, still unopened on the shop floor. SweetiePie88 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Tossed a series 12 princess into the basket today to finish my display. What they say about the headgear is true. Hat is loose. Submitted a part replacement requst. Quote
Robert8 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Now I have all the minifigures Some thoughts: The Wizard looks better without the cape. The simpler the better, IMO. In my case, my S8 Alien Villainess is getting a new fancy cape for parties. I think the moons and stars print fits her. The Battle Goddess helmet is a little odd.... It's bigger than it should be. It reminds me of a little girl playing with a cooking pot in her head. By the way, she looks great with the Genie Girl / Dino Tracker hairpiece. She looks like an amazon. The Spooky Girl is pretty awesome. Every female minifigure looks funny with her hairpiece. It seems like a Lady Gaga hairstyle. The Swashbuckler looks better with dark brown legs. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Does anyone have any screen grabs of what type of stats the princess boosts on the Lego mmo? Quote

SweetiePie88 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Thanks. Was debating about plugging her data into the mmo tonight or wait until I'd actually want to play the game for longer then plugging in a code. She's kind of a weakling. Not Much on defense and only mid power and creativity is high. Wish they would of made a battle worth princess so I'm going to wait. Quote
Flipz Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Thanks. Not Much on defense and only mid power and creativity is high. Wish they would of made a battle worth princess so I'm going to wait. She's actually surprisingly powerful; her attacks are "summon"-type projectiles, meaning if you use shift-targetting they won't get stuck in the ground instead of shooting at enemies (Dino Hunter, I'm looking at you ), and they have a VERY large range (you can actually hit enemies that are somewhat off-screen). The Frognado is also surprisingly fast at draining the health bars of large stationary enemies, though the cooldown really hurts. Yes, she's squishy, and yes, she doesn't hit as hard per hit as some other characters, but she hits more often and more reliably, and that's the important part. Quote
Jern92 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Was feeling for minifigures at a Lego show recently, and got told off by a kid who seemed to be helping/working there, saying that I wasn't supposed to do that, and the older guy (thirties maybe?) at the cashier backed him up, so I left without buying anything. I know that in a sense they're right to say that people shouldn't be feeling for contents of blind bags, but I got a bit annoyed at the air of superiority, when I was merely asking the older guy if he had any experience feeling for minifigures. Really want the Spooky Girl but I can't afford to buy the entire box or just buy random packs until I get her. Maybe I should find a friendlier store, or one that doesn't attempt to judge and shame customers.. Quote
Blakstone Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Odd, the LEGO Store in OKC didn't care when I felt bags for this series and the staff felt bags for customers before too. But whenever I find these at Walmart, invariably someone opened bags. I wonder if your store had problems with people opening bags. Quote

The guy at my lego store told me that he and the staff feel bags often before they put them out on the showroom floor. He has every figure except mr gold. Seems like feeling bags is an accepted practice most everywhere so I would feel too bad about doing it. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Feeling minifigures is an accepted practice at many locations. It is usually fine at most Lego stores, Targets, TRUs, etc, but not every one. It all depends on how the seller views it. If they put the figs at/behind the counter, I won't feel the packs. I also don't feel offended if someone asks me not to do it. It is less of an issue for big box stores that get many cases in, but small mom-n-pop places may only get 1or 2 cases in, and wouldn't want someone like me coming in and taking all their Hun's for example. Then if some kid came in looking for one later on, the little kid would be out of luck. If I happened to randomly grab 6huns as the first figs sold out of those 2 boxes, that would be OK, because that would have been random. CMFs are packaged to be random, so I feel it is completely up to the seller if they want to allow you to feel for figs. Lego could even go so far as to package them in boxes to make it completely random, but this would greatly add to their production costs (and reduce how many I purchased by about 2/3). I used to feel really embarrassed when I felt for CMFs, but that is long past now. Quote
Colossus Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Hell, I'm not dropping $4 on a minifig if I can't cop a feel on the bag... Waitaminnit. (ahem) I'm not spending my hard-earned $$ on a minifig without first ascertaining the contents of the packet through thorough palpation of said packet. Quote

just2good Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Some Targets have Series 12 for $1.50, as a mistake with Halloween clearance. Check around! Quote

I used to feel really embarrassed when I felt for CMFs, but that is long past now. The store I went to was exhibiting at a Lego show, so their stuff was pretty much spread around on tables in a room, and the minifigures were next to the counter, but about 90 degrees to it on a separate table, so while the cashiers were directly next to the display, they didn't notice until they looked around. It's quite a large toy store though so I didn't think they'd mind at first. I'll try to hunt from different stores, and see what I can find. I wish there were helpful storepeople who'd be willing to do the hunting for you. This is my first time trying to feel for minifigures, and I have to admit that I'm either not very good at it, or someone has bought all the Spooky Girls in the box. Quote

Oh thanks for the hint! I've been feeling for the teddy bear but because I've never seen or held a Lego teddy bear in real life, I can't figure out what it's supposed to feel like. Quote
Colossus Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 You're on the right track feeling for the teddy bear, but it's a small accessory and sometimes difficult to discern from the other pieces parts. Spooky Girl's hair is pretty soft, and easier to feel for. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Yes, find the squishy hair first, then confirm it by finding the teddy bear. you can find the body of the teddy bear, and feel for the two arms angling off. These have not been any rarer than anything else in my experience (maybe 3 per box instead of 4) Quote
