Ahhhhhhh splendor of a Brick Miner MOC....

If The LEGO Group were looking for a designer to design new Wild West sets you'd have to top the list - Legorado Station is almost too good not to be an official set! Its so superb I'm rendered speechless.

Sorry that I answer only now. But I was in holidays so I couldn't reply.

I'm the same opinion as Mister Phes. Your WW Train Station is brilliant, excellent ... perfect!

I think it really has to be released by TLC (like your other three WW creations, too)!

(If you are a so good lego set creator you perhaps want to create one of my new WW ideas, too?!?!?!?!? That would be great because I haven't got these possibilities to make a set so realistic as you.)

thanks for the feedback KD !!! your comprehension of the WW theme is very noteworthy, so your opinion is a very valuable one !!!

i do think your cableway set is an excellent idea...
Wild West Cableway

a canyon with a little river and a cableway from the one side of the canyon to the other side

including some barrels, cargo staff and two horses

minifigs: sheriff, cowboy, the robbers' boss, a robber

im not sure i would want to make this the focal point of an entire set, but its inclusion in my BOULDER PASSAGE 6785 MOC may be prefect. BOULDER PASSAGE is an MOC expanding on the train sub-theme of the Wild West theme. while the LEGOREDO STATION focused on the city environment, BOULDER PASSAGE 6784 is going to focus on the wilderness of the frontier... these two sets will give the western train two very different environments to explore. and i think a cableway would be an excellent characteristic for the set !!!

Thank you very much, Brick Miner, I remember that thread, it

A very, very cool MOC Brickminer!! You have done a wonderful job creating this. I definitly give you two *y* up for this MOC. Again, VERY VERY COOL.

As I gave only a very short statement to your excellent WW Train Station some days ago, I now will give you a more precise statement:

What I do really like:

-The train station itself is 100000 % perfect. I like the little hall downstairs with the bench to wait and the table with the tickets. The room upstairs with the table with the treasure card and the seats is consummate, too.

-The bandits' ambush with the rock is very nice.

-The two passener cars are well-done, too, with their red colours and the decoration.

-The locomotive with the tender is excellent.

-The horse carriage is a very good idea. I would never have had this idea.

-The minifigs are very cool!

What I don't like so much:

-The coach with the coachman is a bit simple and small.

-In my oppinion the tree carriage is superfluously. I'm a bit disappointed that there is no cargo carriage with barrels and a treasure box. That's really missing, I think...

It would perhaps be better to devide your WW train station up in a WW train set and a WW train station (how I proposed) because then it would be more realisic that TLC would release these sets, I think. In addition to that you would consequently also have the possibility to buy first the train station and after a while the train, if you've got not so much money. But I know that this isn't your problem. If Lego would release a set (or sets) like this they even do what they want. (I don't mean that deprecatingly!)

But otherwise your WW train station is so brilliant that if TLC would release it (Pleaeaeaeaeaeaeaeaease!) I swear that I immediately would buy it (and your stage coach and the haunted pass of course too).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Besides, Brick Miner, have a look to the ideas for WW sets forum. I've posted something according to my idea of a cableway.

it is my observation that LEGO attempted to combine multiple western themes into each of their WW sets. thus, you see a pioneer-style covered wagon that is also a calvary weapon supply wagon, and why you see a saloon-style card table in FORT LEGOREDO. similarly, in my MOCs, im attempting to overlay as many western themes as possible in each set. especially the larger sets, like this one.

my idea was that LEGO would have tried to get more playability out of the (otherwise pointless) caboose. therefore, i combined the idea of a mail car, luggage car and caboose into one. inside the caboose are 2 small barrels with letter pattern tiles, briefcases, and an adventurer's crate with a "safe co." safe in it.

that

So um...

You willing to sell that Beauty

I have always desired to have a Wild west style train

At 1000 pieces it might be kinda of expensive

Maybe you should go into mass production X-D

Wait,what am I thinking, he'd never sell(or would he)

OK, if there are so nice things in the caboose, the bandits would have something to rob and so I'm lucky!

Nevertheless, perhaps you want to include a cargo carriage into your WW cableway

Ah, this is such a beautifully conceived "unofficial set", Brick Miner! I'm ashamed I didn't take a gander, sooner. Everything from the mini-figs to the colors to the design is perfect. If TLC could design WW sets of this caliber in the future, I might just cave in and make a purchase.

I agree that TLC missed out by not making a western train set of some sort. Trains are one of the staples of classic westerns.

i think ole clint would have a problem with one word in this sentence... might :-P

thanks for the feedback Berry !!!

The only thing which we WW fans can do is:

We must hope that a TLG member browses this forum, discovers this excellent WW train set and tells that TLC. Then TLC should be (I hope so!) so intelligent to release this or a similar set in the following years.

I agree that TLC missed out by not making a western train set of some sort. Trains are one of the staples of classic westerns.

I have to tell you that this isn't right. I've found a picture of a Lego WW train on http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/3225-1?showpic=6893

(Sorry that I do not post the picture! But I don't know how to do.)

to me, that set is just as much a western train as the "My Own Train" series of 2002. all are more of a city based steam engine... though, they do have hints of their western ancestors. since we are on the topic, LEGO did produce an actual western themed train though...

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=726-1

however i think it would be much of an eye-sore mixing it with the 1996 WW line. id rather use the My Own Train large engine... in fact, this was the set i bought as a base for LEGOREDO STATION...

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4534-1

because i didn't own any train elements (like motor, speed regulator, track contacts) it was a prefect start for the MOC !!!

Well finally back online to comment... Sorry!

It looks wonderful BM! I have always loved the concept and your rendering is, as usual, brilliant. The locomotive is slick and suitable, the cars are well chosen and lego like in their (relative) simplicity. Your characters are brilliant! Particularly the bandits. The scenery inclusions are also a nice touch, their variability has a great 'lego' feel to it...

The station is also well done, small (though necessarily for the piece count. I'm guessing lego would have done a train with rural platform and separate station set...) I like the map, rooms, and easily accessible western feel.

I think you are now obligated to produce next season's add on: an off shoot line (two splitters) going through a canyon...

Thanks for sharing, Great work!

God Bless,

Nathan

hey norro's back !!! thanks for your feedback now, and earlier this year... you have really helped me grown as an MOCist X-D

you know, one thing i want to do with my MOCs is have them self contained... your right, LEGO would have made two sets out of this... but i think what we have here is more appealing.

I think you are now obligated to produce next season's add on: an off shoot line (two splitters) going through a canyon...

Splendid MOC. It really does look like it could be an actual set, and the stickers are the icing on the cake. They really make it look authentic. Will you be making additional cars to supplement your train?
thanks for the post here brickadier !!! again, i think i want to keep my MOCs like self-contained sets... with a "playable right out of the box" feel. right now i don't have any plans for more train cars, though as others have said, we could stand to see a separate mail car, luggage car, etc...

Keep these coming Brick Miner, I look forward to the next one. I have to admit I shed a tear...simple Brillant. I've just got back into legos and I plan on doing some western Mocs as well as custom western minifigs. Frankly, it's just plain FUN. Great job again, glad to know there are others out there who love the western lore and LEGO's!

hey apache, im glad you found your way back to LEGOs, and in extra glad you found your way to this community. our number of old west fans has really grown in the past couple of months. and it's always nice to see their interpretation of the theme.... so without a doubt, i can't wait to see your MOCs and decals.

one of our other newer members, tyger has provided some great customs here, they are worth chekcing out, to say the least !!!

I can hardly believe I haven't commented on this superb MOC yet. My apologies.

The train is truly magnificent. Ilike the Caboose and Engine most, but the other cars are also very good.

But the station, that's really brilliant!! If I didn't know better I'd seriously think this has been an official LEGO set. I don't know how you do it but this MOC really has the official LEGO set feeling, I like that alot, I never achieve that effect in my MOCs. Everything is very LEGO-set-like, especially the windows, and the open backside to allow playability.

And your minifig decals are also great. Yet again, they look like they were designed by TLC.

There's absolutly nothing negative I can say about this MOC...

Your MOCs make me consider getting into Wild West again... And that doesn't happen easily.

Bravo Mr Brick Miner!

i see your making some rounds in the H&A forum, tiber... thanks for stopping by here !!! it's much appriciated *sweet* i guess i should return the favor and head into the deep waters of the pirate forum... it's just far too vast, and i want to be able to find my way back to dry land.

well, its one of my hidden agendas to "inspire through example" :-D

i figure, if i build the best MOCs i can in the western theme, others will get inspired and build in the western theme, and in turn, inspire me X-D that is my tactic for growing the WW fan base here on EB. so keep posted to the H&A forum around september for my next release !!!

Your tactic is working so far :-D

I'm only a noob here, and I've only just stumbled across this thread.

This is the best MOC I've ever seen - I'd buy it in an instant if it was an official set - it's exciting, and captures the mood of the WW series perfectly - and the pictures are fabulous.

I wish I had talent like this.
