Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Well... that looks pretty damn awesome. I wasn't sure if another LEGO Batman game was really necessary, but it looks good enough for me not to complain. Also, notice how Wonder Woman has a new costume in the trailer: could that be based upon her costume for Superman vs Batman? It might not be of course, but I do wonder because the Batman suit in the screenshot above seems to look a lot like the one that we have seen a photo of from Superman vs Batman. Quote
stayunspoiled Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The costumes are all based off the current DC comics (new 52). And they look AWESOME! Quote

Design of her, Cyborg and Superman are clearly based on New 52. Quote
deskp Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Esh, no open world, that sucks, that was a great reason to collect characters and play around in the open world, just replaying story missions is not as fun. And setting it in space does not make it cooler to me, certianly they could have had a hub city, with the levens branching off into space, like Marvel did.. No open world is a step back to me, a huge step back.. Makes it jsut another linear game rather than a nice sandbox of random fun wich extends the experience. Quote
Cammo Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Another image has popped up showing Lex in his exclusive minifigure form from the Batman 2 game: Quote
Maniac4Legos Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Now that we have information about Batman 3 (which I expected after the success and the ending of Batman 2), it's time to ask some important questions about the game. We only have one image of the Batman outfits (other than the trailer) but what other outfits could be included in this game? What could possibly be the promotional figure for the games preorder release? What areas will be explored in this new game since it no longer takes place in Gotham city? Who can we expect will be boss levels in this game? Will there be a change or advance of any current superhero powers? What type of vehicles should we expect the superheroes to use in space? What type of many kits would be created for each level? Could we see any signs of Batman's gallery of villains in space? Quote
Gooker1 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I can imagine a lot of information along w/ a playable version will be announced during E3 and SDCC this year. Should be pretty exciting! Quote
deskp Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I do wish they had put in Aquaman instead of Robin in the trailer, then we would have gotten a proper Justice league. I dont get why they focus so much on batman and ROBIN rather than batman and another hero Quote
Rinzler Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Character Wishlist: Professor Zoom Mirror Master Captain Cold Trickster Heatwave Deathstroke Weather Wizard Malcolm Merlyn Green Arrow John Diggle Deadshot Bronze Tiger Shrapnel BONUS CHARACTER: Spider-Man BONUS CHARACTER: Captain America The last two would work in the style of Indiana Jones/Star Wars kind of thing with Green Lantern and Flash taking bonus places in the next Marvel game Quote

Hi, Just wondering if i missed something here, Does it actually say there WONT be an open world or is that just an assumption. I have been so soaked up in other media and business i may have missed that. cheers Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The open world was such a pain to navigate in LB2 that I don't think I will miss it very much. I guess that they are going in more of a TLM direction where the Watchtower will be a way to travel to other smaller worlds like the Batcave and Oa? So long as we can go to places on Earth other than the Batcave (Arkham Asylum, Metropolis, Paradise Island, etc.), I think I would prefer this more. I was hoping they would ditch the supersuits, but it sounds like they are improving them in a way that will not make every character but Batman, Robin, and Superman redundant, so that is good. The Justice League also looks like it is more central to this story than the last one, but, yeah, I wish that Aquaman or Hawkgirl were there instead of Robin. I am happy to see that LEGO is letting J'onn and Cyborg play nicely though. And 150+ characters? Yes, please... There is no way 90% of them can all be Batman related this time. It looks like this sequel is shaping up to be much better than LB2 and fixing all the problems I had with that. And it is available on the Xbox 360, so I won't need to get a new console! Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Things of note: -Everyone has their New 52 costumes -The new Batman costume looks an awful lot like the Batman vs. Superman costume -BEYOND Gotham, maybe as in BATMAN Beyond? Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Super Fish Oil's got a decent idea about the Watchtower. That would be pretty cool, though not as cool as Marvel's open world New York City. I was hoping they'd get rid of those lame suits, too. They always felt very action figure-y and not very Batman-y. I know he has some suits for certain conditions, but when you need one to place bombs, and another to be fireproof, and another to break glass... They should probably come up with a way to better incorporate his utility belt in place of those. At least they look cooler and far less bulky now. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Again, Would someone tell me where you found out there is no open world. I cant find the source??? I think it was in an article 'TheBuoyWonder' linked to back on the first page. Maybe we are just assuming because it mentions planet hopping though. Quote
TheBuoyWonder Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 This article confirms that at least killer croc and Solomon Grundy will be big figs http://comicsalliance.com/lego-batman-3-beyond-gotham-trailer-images/?utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=referral Quote
BFN Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Not sure if anyone else has seen these, so I'll just post them here. The second link contains a lot more interesting information, but the first at least gives indication that guys like Arthur Parsons have taken some of the fan complaints/thoughts on LEGO Batman 2 and worked on them for this game. I wish we could see some of the gameplay mentioned in the latter... Quote

Maybe we are just assuming because it mentions planet hopping though. Thanks SFO, Hopefully we will see lots of medium hubs, Hopefully bigger than TLM ones though as i found them small and tedious. As for big-figs as well as croc and grundy i would like Big bane (likely), Clayface and Darksied at least. For normal characters i would like deathstroke (maybe in an arrow themed level?) and plastic man!! Also i would love villain themed levels back, Surely i cant be the only one who loved breaking into banks as riddler and clayface.....Can i ? Quote
