Posted May 29, 201410 yr I've built a tower just to try building a diagonal wall with tiles (for the look of bricks) on it. It became my biggest moc. This is my Wizards' Tower. I hope I am a better builder than a photographer. The Black Wizard just arrives, escorted by a Lion Knight: He is welcomed by the Dark Brown Dwarven Wizard and by Guard No. 1 and Guard with a f***ing big axe: The maiden chases the hen in a circle, when you turn a wheel on the side of the platform, and another hen jumps up, when she passes: The side of the tower: You can drop stones onto the bridge by tipping the barrel: There is also a barn... ... and a swamp creature hiding under the bridge: In the rocks a ghost is hiding: The pantry and some private rooms in one of the towers: The Dark Gray Wizard searching the sky for something (only he knows what that might be): He has to climb the roof: The back: The barn (and the dwarven smithy's chimney, the trapdoor is the entrance): The rooms in the Wizards' Tower, connected by an elevator: A witch in a secret chamber: The dwarven smiths in their smithy (pressing the anvil lights the fire): The dwarven wizards know how to grow gold on solid rock (in the background): Deep under the mountain there dwells a dragon. Or a troll. Or anything else with glowing eyes: The peasants: The guards: The wizards: The dwarves: I have made two movies to show the features: movie 1 movie 2 Thanks for looking. P.S. This is the diagonal wall, with which it started. 1x1 bricks with studs on two or four sides and 1x4 panels. It fits onto a 2x2 jumper plate: Edited May 29, 201410 yr by Bernd

May 29, 201410 yr That is some great work! I love how you did the walls, just the right amount of accent stones The dungeons are a very nice detail, and the layout is great. And it just looks nice, you know
May 29, 201410 yr Fantastic build! Lots to see! I really love all the details you put in; you have covered every space with something interesting to look at. This requires several views to fully appreciate. :D
May 29, 201410 yr Congratulations my friend! Thats an amazing MOC, i dont know where to start, so many highlights to talk about it....
May 29, 201410 yr This is a beautiful creation, congratulations, the different chambers and characters make it so brilliant. Great details to top it all off.
May 29, 201410 yr What a great MOC you've built. Some many details, I seriously spent a lot of time watching the pictures.
May 30, 201410 yr Author Thanks everybody. That is some great work! I love how you did the walls, just the right amount of accent stones The dungeons are a very nice detail, and the layout is great. And it just looks nice, you know The amount of accent is due to my limited number of headlight bricks. I just didn't have any more.
May 30, 201410 yr Great work! There's so much detail! Have you thought about joining Guilds of Historica?
May 30, 201410 yr Thanks everybody. The amount of accent is due to my limited number of headlight bricks. I just didn't have any more. Well, I would say then, you have just the right amount, don't get anymore :)
May 31, 201410 yr Lots of good details for sure. Some nice techniques and piece combos I'll have to use some day. The photography could use some work though. A couple of tips if I may 1) Use lots of natural light or diffuse indoor light using a light tent or household sheet. I usually shoot outside in the shade. Lots of natural light and no light tent needed, though you do need to battle the elements a lot. 2) If you are using natural/better lighting, you likely don't need the flash, or at least not a flash pointed right at the MOC. The flash creates glare and also seems to lose the natural colors of the MOC. 3) If you do ditch the flash, the photos often times come out blurry because you move the camera when you press the camera button and no flash means it takes light longer to get into the camera. I overcome this by setting the camera on timer so it takes the pictures 1 second after I press the button. This gives my hands a second to steady after I press the button!
May 31, 201410 yr Marvelous build! The layout of castle is excellent and the individual buildings are nicely detailed Good rockwork and landscape too. But what makes me like this build most are all the interiors and the moving parts
May 31, 201410 yr Great MOC! so much details packed in such a little space without making it look overblown
May 31, 201410 yr Beautiful MOC... I like the wizard on the roof and all the details around, especially the rooms. Great work!
June 4, 201410 yr This is a stunning creation. I like the attention to detail you have lavished on all the internal rooms as well as the bustling atmosphere you've created with your minifigures. With all the different things going on it;s really hard to pick a favorite part, but I think for me, it's the little observatory that sits upon the spire of the tower - you would have to be one gutsy astronomer to climb up there every day! June 7, 201410 yr Author Thanks for all the comments. Great work! There's so much detail! Have you thought about joining Guilds of Historica? I'm not that active. The Historic theme is ok for me. And in future I will build smaller mocs. That one took too much time for my taste. ... The photography could use some work though. A couple of tips if I may ... Thanks. It has been bad weather here for days and I just didn't want to wait. You're right though, a better Photo would be nice. Next time.
