ritztoys Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Fellow Builders may I present my version of this fantastic truck. The original author Ingmar Spijkhoven aka..... 2LegoOrNot2Lego just released BI for this. A few months back Ingmar emailed me with his idea of alternate colors, he showed me four color choices, I liked the Yellow best, I fell in love again with this truck. I decided to "repaint" this creation in colors representing the American Southwest. As you will see, I picked Tan, Brown, & Medium Blue. At the time of my color choice I didn't realize how rare these colors are in certain positions on the model. The #6091 in Brown surprised me of its' rarity, but the #6060 in Tan was not available anywhere! So after a few weeks I finally found a vendor in Germany. ( his store policy didn't ship to US ) I was devastated, so I begged him through many emails and he then agreed to ship to me. The secret paint version was now a solid choice. I built both his original color and my color together to make sure I had all the parts for my secret paint version. I changed the interior colors opposite of Ingmars' original design ie. Dk Blue Gray with Tan highlights. I also added some additional Chrome pieces to the model to look even more realistic, as it already is! I also found out those Chrome antennas were rare too. I guess this is what the Tech Guys were pointing at................ ( This is for you Lundgren ) Quote
Nazgarot Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 WOW! Would love to have one on my office desk... Do you have any idea of the parts cost? I have lots of Technic, but not much "standard Lego"... But I would like to build something like this. -ED- Quote
Lundgren Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Finally :) Special color indeed! I really love the chrome (especially the pinups, btw where did you get those?) Must say though I would have gone for a black frame on it. It reminds me a little of this Revell set I built in my days, http://www.onestoprchobbies.com.au/epages/onon2863.sf/en_AU/?ObjectPath=/Shops/onon2863/Products/95-07549 Edited May 30, 2014 by Lundgren Quote
ritztoys Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Howdy Lundgren, I know, I know, it took forever to find some of these pieces. Plus I'm still remodeling my Kitchen...............building while paint dries! I thought about a Black frame, but I think that you loose detail, that's not easy to see. Those are "Mud Flap Girls", look ( search ) for them under 'earrings', still hard to find. Edited May 30, 2014 by ritztoys Quote
Lundgren Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Yes I absolutely see what you mean by loosing detail! Brown would have been the best if it would have been possible! Thanks a lot for the tip about earrings!!! Quote
ritztoys Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 Guys, I forgot to add, for those of us builders and lookers. Yes this truck is shorter than the original design, so your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. I removed the 1 x 4 tech brick from the chassis because I was unable to get Medium Blue in the 'hinge' brick., for the 'wind wings' at the sleeper cab. So I decided to make this creation real personal and needed to remove the same amount of length in the fuel tanks. Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) I really love this customized repainted version of this truck. So nice to see that someone takes this build to a hole new level. This really is one of kind. You already showed me some pictures, but now I can see even more details. The interior looks great too! @ Lundgren: How are your builds doing? It has been quiet for a while...are you still alive...? Edited May 31, 2014 by 2LegoOrNot2Lego... Quote
Lundgren Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Hi Ingmar! Yes it's been quiet from me for a while but I'm most certainly alive! :) been on a business trip for almost a month. So I haven't had any time at all to build anything unfortunately. But I hope to find some time in the evenings next week! How are you doing and how is the next project going for you? Quote

This amount is what you 'might' spend if you don't have any 'Model Team' style bricks & plates. The most expensive parts will be the PF items. The best part is Ingmars' original design of the colors he picked are very common parts and easy to find. ( you might surprise yourself as to how many parts you already have ) You won't be disappointed when you begin building............ take your time and enjoy the experience that Ingmar designs in all of his MOCs. spongebrickpl Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 You built great desert truck. I am impressed with interior. It can be a road train if You connect few trailers. Colors are great for it. Collecting parts is sometimes exhausting but when model is ready You know it was worth. Quote
ritztoys Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Fellow Builders................My truck finally got a Trailer, thanks Ingmar for another fantastic build..............enjoy the photos  Looking forward to your next creation Ingmar! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 At the other topic I wrote how I happy I am with your customized trailer. So nice to see that you managed to make it go with your famous Desert Angle. You have the one available Tan grill, you are lucky... Never noticed it before, but the wing on top of the sleeper is a very nice addition, that is for sure! Quote

Thanks Ingmar...........As you know, building this truck was a personal passion of mine, such a great design. The finished model needed to "Pop" ( as it does already, the trailer just puts the whole combination over the top! ), as I will be demonstrating this MOC in my display next March, so it had to look real special. Edited December 15, 2014 by ritztoys Quote
