Looking forward to your video review!

Thank you. Can't possibly beat your picture quality, though :)

My 42030 also comes with V1 receivers (or simply unmarked receivers), but the box clearly shows V2's.

Thanks! That's why we both do what we do best

May be they fixed v2 to something like v2.5 that dont have any troubles with 2x M motors at 1 output? So there is no need now to mark it.

Could you test it with buggy motor?

I think I will pass on this set, and instead just buy the bucket alone!

I doubt that one can buy the Volvo's bucket separately, because (like the Lego Unimog's orange panels) the bucket is probably licensed. I bet the only way to get the bucket is via Bricklink, from some guy who parts-out the set and sells the bucket for lots of money.

Or you could just build the B-model and use the bucket for your moc.

Thanks for the fantastic review! Looks like a lot of time put into the review.

I love the bucket and yellow wheels, but $249 is steep. I think I'll pass.

Does the V2 receiver have a different look than the V1?

V2 receiver has V2 printed on its front, V1 has nothing printed.

Nice good looking review! Any chance of B-model review?

Not by me. I don't have the building instructions for the B-model yet and I most honestly say I am not much of a B-model builder. I'll let someone else judge the B-model

Thank You for the review. I have only one problem with the set. The price is too high. But I will try to buy it.

Thanks, Jim, for your excellent review and stunning pics! On the other hand: no thanks, you just made the waiting for august another bit harder… ;)

By the way, does it have a working steering wheel?

My sincere apologies

Hmmm if I am not mistaken the steering wheel is on the pivoting axle, so it does turn when you steer (99% sure).

Bear in mind that it's the MSRP, so it will be a bit cheaper in stores. Of course it's still a lot of money.

Great review Jim, thank you very much ! I must admit, it is a very nice set, but maybe to expensive all in all.

Happy building your Hummer!

Thanks. Still training the hamsters to drive it ;)

Great review Jim.

Definitely going to buy this set. Any idea how it compares scale wise to 8043 Excavator or Dozer (B Model), not as in overall size but are they made to the same scale ?

Anyone know the answer to my q?

I'm guessing its too large to compare to the dozer scalewise, the old front loader already was too large :D
