Damn Ted, it's going to be way too hard to vote. I propose we cancel the contest to prevent people from breaking down due to mental stress.

Hehe I was thinking exactly the same. The level of the entries in this contest is insane!!

Nice work.

I propose that this image is updated on close of the competition with all the entries. Being able to see them all in one place will help compare the entries to each other. I think that voting is going to be very tough, so we need all the help we can get!

I have a solution for this voting conondrum: the contest entree who transfers me the largest sum of money (in Euros preferably) wins the contest. Makes sense, no?

But yeah, that's a cool picture allanp. Keep it updated!

I have officially entered now. Looking at hthat compilation image, I have to say, I love the sheer diversity in all the entries. There are trucks of any kind, cars, construction equipment, farming equipment, airplanes, helicopters, and some that defy categorization. Same goes for the variation in color. All lovely little MOCs that show that quality doesn't necessarily come with size. I like that. (Also all those parts images are a great help for those who want to build each other's models.

How many entries can we vote for/give points? I hope it's at least 10. Apologies if this is mentioned somewhere.

I am happy with the voting scheme, so the same as the previous contest.

10 points with a maximum of 5 per entry and you must spend all points.

Alright Ted, that sounds like a good setup.

Alright Ted, that sounds like a good setup.

That worked out fine last time, so that will be the standard for future Technic contests :sweet:

I like it that you can hand out points in stead of just picking the best. This is a little less hard to pick the best ones.

For me the best Technic competition ever with so many enteries and high quality models.

It would be really cool to write and collect reviews of some of the entries. Would be interesting to compare the entries, looking at the reviews.

What would be really great would be to see all the entries built, side by side. Perhaps not a practical expectation but, it's a nice thought.

Definitely!!

So we need a global event

I love this competition, I am amazed by the creativity and diversity of the builders here. I would never have thought that 200 Technic bricks (including those sneeky friction pins) would still allow for so many different points of view, some builders even had enough with 100 parts.

During my build, it was intimidating so see what my model was up against and was struggling to choose a strategy: maximize cuteness, functions or oddness?

It is the first time I participate is such an contest and I must say that it is a very educational process. On one hand you have to come up with a model that stands out from the other entries in some way or another.

On the other hand, the limited part count forces you to reconsider each part you add. I found myself going back an forth between creating an iteration to improve a function for example without caring too much about the part count and a subsequent rebuild where I tried to eliminate parts. I truly think my MOC-ing skills have improved due to this process. For example: in one iteration I went from 266 to 204 parts just by combining structural elements and critically review all pins, connectors and axles used.

If there ever was an illustration for the saying "Less is more", this should be it. Wonder what a 100-piece limit would result in ...

To all co-contestants: Thank you for sharing your creativity and good luck!

I've already made a mental note to use similar constraints on myself in future, to help hone my building skills. I can only aspire to the levels of creativity exhibited by the entrants of this contest.

What I also like from this contest is how much fun you can have designing and building Mini models and cramming some cool stuff into them. MOCs usually tend to be big things (just look at most MOCs in this forum), but making something on this scale can be a blast. And that is something that all the entries clearly show.

For myself it's a scale I want to play around with some more for the next few MOCs :classic:
