After completing the first bridge layer I came up with an idea for a better bridge design:

With this updated design the bridge was made longer, stronger and more car-freindly.

The bad side was that it was heavier, so I had to come up with a new, more powerfull bridge laying truck.

The new truck once again uses only M motors for all 3 functions

The same motor that steers also propels the winch. To stop the steering mecahnism from breaking apart while winchin I used a white clutch gear:

Because of the large forces involved in lifting the extended bridge the only solution that worked was a simple lever and a winch.

Here's the finished model:

And a small blooper:

Quite brilliant, i imagine it's one of those builds where you are a little surprised it works :classic: I would not have thought it would be so strong.

The biggest problem was making a lifting mecahnism for the bridge. You can imagine the torque you need to raise the extended bridge. I tried LA's, worm gears and turntables, but nothing beats a simple lever and a winch.
