Thomas of Tortuga Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Many Avalonians have been stricken by the plague. Some flee, others are quarantined, still others seek the help of alchemists and doctors. Inside all of them, though, one force is constantly striving to combat the ravages of the plague: the white blood cells! The dastardly plague viruses might seek to destroy their victim, but their foes are always vigilant! Outside, great forces move, trying to stop the spread of the plague. No recognition or acknowledgement is given to the humble immune system. But do they care? No! These steadfast cells devote their lives to the service of humanity. In these days of trial, let's always remember their sacrifices, along with those of the larger Historicans. Admittedly, I'm still fairly new to GoH. Nevertheless, I would venture to guess this is one of the more unusual challenge entries. If one reads the challenge prompt carefully, "Depict a character working to suppress the plague (road closure, quarantine, etc)..." it would seem the character could be of any size. Surely nobody could deny little Harold the leukocyte his chance to enter? Although I know I'm not the first person to use this piece in a moc, I was fairly proud of this NPU, so it merits a mention. Fig Microbe-less! I think I did a fairly good job making the blood vessel walls, or at least the floor, curved. Nevertheless, I am compelled to admit that my perception of blood vessels comes entirely from Magic School Bus, so feel free to critique UoP Credits: +1 Micro building Quote
Gabe Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Ah, genius concept Thomas! The immunologist in me is dancing with glee to see this - Harold the leukocyte indeed! (Took a cytotoxin to the nucleus, may we ever remember their sacrifice) Great use of the Galaxy quest squad alien critters, and your blood vessel architecture makes an excellent background too. UoP - Do you mean microscale? Cause this is kinda the opposite of microscale - super macroscale maybe? Quote
Mutant Orc Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Wow this is very clever and cool!!! Ha ha! The magic school bus...I haven't seen one of those episodes for years! Quote
