SANTA FE!!!!!!!!!

Its kind of neat to have real trains that do exist!!!

Here is a suggestion for TLC: have a new adventurers line with an Orient Express set (black and dark green with a golden line).

It's hard for me to vote because I have a few favorites, but I like the Cargo, Santa Fe, and BNSF. I particularly like the cargo because of the green pieces, the box car, and the fact that it's a complete set (with extras like the switch track).

I'd love to see an Orient Express, a nice classy passenger train that would go great with the Adventurers theme. Even an American Orient Express with blue, white, and yellow colors would be nice. The Super Chief was a great engine, but the cars were just so plain (as is the real train). I like color.

You missed:

4551 Crocodile Engine

4564 Freight Rail Runner

4559 Cargo Train (1996) Black one with yellow train base plates

4563 Load n Haul Railroad

and of course

2126 Train Cars (mmmmmm.....)

3225 "Classic" Train (which had a nice caboose)

;)

4536 Blue Hopper Car

4537 Twin Tank Transport (this one has a soft spot in my heart)

*wub*

Railroad Club Car (I spent $$$ to get this before it came out as a legend)

*devil*

4549 Road n Rail Hauler (another favorite of mine)

Train Stations

4554/2150 Metrostation (yellow/red) (my favorite train station)

4513 Grand Central Station

4556 Train Station

10027 Train Engine Shed (mmmm.....)

Cargo Cranes

4514 Cargo Crane

4555 Freight Loading station (mmmm.....)

4557 Freight Loading station (4555 <insert that tiresome argument>/bastardized cousin)

Plus the myriad of Train Level Crossings and Train Maintenance vehicles

all of this encompasses 9V train.

Quite impressive....

My favorite is still Metroliner and its partner Club Car

I also enjoy the 4549 Road n Rail Hauler

4564 Freight Rail Runner

Twin-Tank Transport

Train Engine Shed

Thanks, Ben.

ps.... now if you want to discuss ALL Lego Train sets:

the High Speed train 7745

Intercity Train 7740 (which I still lack) :(

7722 Train Station (had some nice usefull long lt. grey plates)

7724 Train Station (pretty but plain looking trainstation)

the myriad of train engines for the 12v with their larger trucks

(wheels)

I voted for the Santa Fe Super Chief. This has always been my favorite. I had three N-gauge sets when I was a kid and the SF really got me into the Lego train market when they released it. I also love the BNSF but I wish Lego would release rolling stock for it and sell it as the BNSF collection. The Cargo Train is a great traditional Lego train set and really the best value. I also have a warm place in my heart for the Metroliner but Lego charges way too much for this set.

vader posted less since you have gone. I think this is related to the fact you were a duo :-D One without the other doesnt make a lot of sense. i'm sure he will be back soon now

Yeah, we seem to be the Batman and Robin of the Eurobricks Community.

VADER PLEASE COME BACK TO US!!!

If that does not work I will have to sent out the Bat Signal. :D ;)

What's interesting in looking at the results of this poll, 38% of people responded with a set that was originally made in 1992 as 1st place. The Sante Fe and Cargo Train tied for 2nd. The Cargo Train reminds me a lot of the early 9V sets. What this leads me to believe is that with all of Lego's new technology, colors, and specialized pieces, some of the older sets were still better.

Lego needs to make more Legends!

The Metroliner was the best because it included everything you ever wanted (except the speed regulator). Platform, tons of minifigs, very detailed. Nothing can top it. It is very realisitic, yet very fun to play with.

Unfortunately I was stuck with the Cargo Railway and a couple of MOT sets. I would instantly trade them for a Metroliner with a Club Car.
