allanp Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I personally prefer the second version. It looks more serious! I would also change the colour of the seat. Still a fantastic model though Quote
Eraman Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 In the second version the nose is better for me Quote
Jim Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I personally prefer the second version. It looks more serious! I would also change the colour of the seat. Still a fantastic model though I agree with Allan. Although I really like the third one as a normal MOC, from the contest point of view (official Technic) I would go for the second version. Quote
captainmib Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) I like the first version. The long parts seem out of place with the rest of the set. The first nose is still good looking while being more technic. Edited June 21, 2014 by captainmib Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 Hi, It is amazing how much you can tinker in such a small scale model Another update, this time using flex axles for the hood (19L axle instead of the ribbed hose). In reality it looks much smoother than in LDD, somehow the 19L axle appears to be just a little shorter than the 19L ribbed hose. It has a much nicer curve than I managed to get in LDD. The price I had to pay is that I had to remove the adjustment in the spoiler. Comments are welcome again Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Your last one is in mine opion the best Quote
merman Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Good luck! Looks great. However, I wonder of you can get the red axle 7. It was only used once in a set from 2005 Quote

Jim Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I'm still leaning towards the second version with adjustable rear spoiler/wing. Although this one looks cool as well. Quote
grum64 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I like the second version, it's more like today's F1 cars. Quote
VintageCharlie Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I really dig version Nr.4 - very stream-lined for such a small Nr. of parts. Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Hi, Here is the latest incarnation of my model. Still some photoshopping to be done... I could make the rear spoiler controlled with a wormgear/gear combination, but it would make the structural integrity of the white sides of the car really minimal. I have opted for the manual adjustable spoiler instead. But I'm interested to hear what you would choose. Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Can you use different colored rubber bands? Like white or black? Quote
Boulderer Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 The standard of the MINI entries keeps getting better. I too really like that this has such strong links to its 42000 big brother Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Can you use different colored rubber bands? Like white or black? I'm afraid not. The white rubber bands are too short and I don't think that the black rubber bands have been used by TLG in the past years. I've tried to build in the spirit of the competition: Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. So I am only using parts that have been used recently. I also used the colourcoding of look-alike-parts and used some solutions that could have been done with less parts, but these would never be used in official sets. Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 And I have now officially entered the competition: Quote
Jim Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 This truly is an amazing entry! I would love to see some extra pictures from different angles. Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Looks like an official model, apart from the bright lime green rubber band Quote
