Susanna was a young teen who had been left behind in the woods by her parents as a baby but fortunately was found by an old herb woman who had decided to foster and aprentince her. She had desperately needed someone to pass her knowledge on to. So for the last 15 years Susanna had grown up in the traquility of the woods and the comfort of the cozy house she and her mistress lived in. Never had she seen more than the few peasents who would seek their advice every now and then ...

However, the last two days were the pure horror for Susanna. All of the sudden dozens of people, villagers, travelers and runaway Avalonian soldiers had swamped their quiet little place. All of them were seeking a cure against an illness Susanna had never heard of, but that showed all kinds of symptoms she would have thought belonged to a whole bunch of other diseases.

Susanna felt extremely overwhelmed by this sudden influx of people because her mistress had gone into the mountains to pick a flower that was said to cure everything. On the bink of exhaustion she just stood on the frontporch and murmured: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away, an apple a day ... ". This was all she could think of in this extreme situation.

When the patients were not getting the cure they wanted, several of them went crazy. Some got drunk, some screamed and others were crying without end. Little children stood helplessly among the crazy adults.

It was in this state of chaos Alfric and Gavin, who were in search of their family, found poor Susanna. Alfric fell in love with the young girl the moment he saw her, but after helping Susanna for half a day, Gavin pushed him on as they couldn't find any sign of their relatives. Alfric swore, if things were ever to become normal again, he would surely marry this beautiful but strange young lady ...

Beautiful work. Nice story. I hope Alfric and Susanna see each other again.

I agree, and yes, make them see each other! The kid is the only one not crazy... I like it.

Nice work! I see this was influenced by Bag End, hmm? There's a good mix of the different tree types here, but soem of the hillside patches look too bare. Maybe you could add some leaves over the curved slopes to make things more textured.

Thanks for your positive comments guys, I appreciate it!

@ToT: Let's put it this way, I recently bought Bag End for a good price so a lot of its pieces went into this build. But the inspiration came frome something else. I was already building this when I bought the set but the bricks came in quite handy for sure.

As for the vegetation, the cow actually ate most of the bushhes within the enclosure and to the right of the hill, it's rather muddy, therefore not as much vegetation. There is way more vegetation to the left of the house

@TuB: sure, might as well get some more pics of angles, seems like some of the things I put in there don't come across as wished

So Avalonian! :wub:You should join Avalonia after Book2 kabel cause this is such a beauty!

Love all the details and the minifigs aswell!

Only nitpick is that I want a whole pic of the moc, right now in the overall pic the roof is cut off

Thanks mate, but this will not happen, I'm Mitgardian to the bone! I have to agree on the pic though and will try to take a better total!

Great entry Kabel, love the overall look of it, but some pulled back pics would be great. The roofline looks really nice with that dormer window, and the snotted windows in the house are ingenious as well. Poor Susannah - looks like she's got a lot to cope with!

Very wooded and Avalonianish!

I like the action and the minifigures in the build. They convey what your story is saying very well.

Do you have a photo of the whole build a little further zoomed out?

Okay guys, thanks a lot for the criticism too. It made me take new pics which I otherwise wouldn't have done although I totally knew that I had screwed up the total view. Anyway, I changed the first post and here is another pic of the whole thing:

Wow that last pic is so great!!! Perfect light, crisp pic and at the right height!

Not to be more picky but the last pic is better than your new overall shot. The camera is at a much better height!:)

Great work on this scene kabel, I really like the green roof, that worked very nicely! Adding the overall view really helps us get a better idea of what's going on,

Ahhh yes, that pulled back pic is great! I also love that you put in a little love story to the whole dg story collab. Wait, did I give something away :look:

This is one of my favorite houses from you yet  The reddish brown and green look great together, the windows are fantastic, and the layout of the house is unique

The cowpen and trees give a great setting to the build as well :classic:

Great work Kabel, the color and composition of this build is spot on! The roof looks fantastic as does the whole house and landscaping. Looks very lush too, I can so easily imagine seeing this home nestled in the middle of a thick forest.

Very cool!

Great build, Kabel, the trees are very cool, and the house is excellent :sweet:

I really like the use of the green on the roof - nice minifig posing too :thumbup:

I really like your solution to sticking two of those arch windows next to each other. I'm definitely filing it away for future use!

Hey Kabel.... Great scene there mate.. Loots of figs around. The best thing is the house, this green contrasts perfectly with the brown. Awesome color usage.
