Blind-Bricks Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hello all. *sweet* For a while now I have wanted to attend a lego event. But even with Brickish all of the big events (minus ScotFest which I need to catch one day) are all in england. And I have no way of getting down there. So I have created a new LUG just for scotland and I call it Scot LUG. Unlike brickish this is a free LUG and I want it to stay that way. So come on over and join up. Its a simple free forum right now but I hope it grows and we have reular shows. Here is the link: http://www.topfreeforum.com/scotlug/index....&mforum=scotlug (Sorry if its in the wrong place.) Quote
Asuka Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Congrats! *y* Scottish LUG on! (You know, the tartan pattern is originally an Austrian invention.... >:-) ) ;-) :-P Quote
der seb Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 :-D also the packpipe isn't a scottisch invention. Originally it's from North Africa and Asia :-D Hey, you scottisch guys, is there any symbol for your contry you invented by yourself? Ah, yes, the ScotLug :-D (this post contains certain irony ;-) ) Quote
Big Pete Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 sorry for asking a potentially noob question ... but is there a LUG for England ? Quote
Blind-Bricks Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Yes and No Brickish is britains official LUG. But you have to pay to join. Ben Quote
Rounin Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Congrats! *y* Scottish LUG on! (You know, the tartan pattern is originally an Austrian invention.... >:-) ) ;-) :-P (Quote from website) In a more modern context, one Austrian company in recent years has attempted to market tartan patterns discovered in archaeological digs in that country with the bogus claim that the kilt was invented not in the Highlands of Scotland, but in pre-historic Austria! Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I'd be happy to join, being from Scotland and all. We need to get bigger! The only photos I've seen of Scotfest consist of 10 or so people gathering at someones house and talking for hours on end, with tea and biscuits. Quote

Warren Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Sounds great, but you should all come along to Scotfest too (which is totally free), we are just a bit bad at taking photos! The more people, the better it will be :-) and just for the record, Brickish does cost money, but it's only Quote
