The weapon is reasonable, but I don't understand how a giant bug-lizard Kaiju would even have a weapon in the first place.

Well, the kaiju are apparently sapient, according to the episode. As for why she'd build a weapon, I think it's more supposed to be something to easily move coccoons.

I was initially skeptical of this set, but I bought it and think its worthwhile. It's one of those cases where the box art make her seem so much worse than she really is in hand.

I don't mean to advertise but I'll now advertise ( ) the fact I did a review (the only internal one I think...) on Brickset of her, no images but its there if you want a load of text to read about it. Some of the stuff there is mundane but its a review I wrote at the time so it'll be more accurate to how I felt about the set than anything I could tell you now (its long since been disassembled).

So it's not a coincidence if this topic is revived shortly after I got the set.

I've built it only yesterday, and I'm disappointed by Evo's walker : the launcher is indeed too low, and makes the walker hard to pose. Queen Beast is a cool build. The color scheme is indeed unusual, but I don't mind it. In fact, the gold emphasizes her status of Queen, and I like that. I think she would have been better without the spikes on her back, though : it could have allowed longer front legs, and wider shoulders.

This set is really entertaining to build, but it would have been better if the walker was smaller and the beast bigger.

I think the colours work quite well on her as along with her limbs they help make her look related to Tunneler Beast (the legs), Flyer Beast (the wings), Splitter Beast (the orange on the chest and the blue) and Crystal Beast (the murky-trans wings) even if only slightly. The only one that's harder to find a very slight similarity to is Jaw Beast. Spose... just the jaw but thats common to them all anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
