captainmib Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) My participation in this great [MINI] contest, i'm building a mini 8109. [updated] It has the following functions: - Steering (hog) - Sliding trailer-bed - Lifting both rear axles to ease the loading of vehicles - winch on the trailer-bed. - adjustable seats Part-count: - 195 I'm happy with the result. There is still time left for adjustments, but I'm pleased with the overall result. More pictures: Here is an early LDD model. I started this after i made some ideas with real lego's to see if the partcount is anywhere near 200 parts. So far the score is 174 bricks. Edited June 19, 2014 by captainmib Quote
captainmib Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Are you kidding me on... Nope, see startpost... Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I started a mini flatbed truck for this contest about 5 days ago but never made a topic because I didn't think anyone would have the same idea. xD Great minds think alike..... Ours are actually very different tbh Quote
captainmib Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Yeah, that's why i made the topic now, didnt want that to happen... I actually had some other ideas, but the fun in this contest is that you need to think REALLY SIMPLE. I'm building stuff in my mind that is way to complicated, but this is coming along nice. I even have parts left atm... Quote

MrNumbskull13 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Mine is blue and yellow with some red, is that different enough? Quote
captainmib Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 So, I'm almost done with my creation. I updated the startpost with new pictures and a description. Hope you like :-) Quote
captainmib Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 Fantastic little truck. Nice mini-version of 8109 Thank you both! Quote
Rockbrick Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Very nice indeed....but why not let others do similar flatbeds the more the merrier and it will make you either improve yours or change your entry completely. thats life - healthy competition Quote
skriblez Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Nice mini of the 8109! Did great homage to it :) Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Do you have an actuation mechanism for the flatbed or do you just have to pull it with your fingers? Quote
captainmib Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) Do you have an actuation mechanism for the flatbed or do you just have to pull it with your fingers? No, you can lift the bed with your hands by grabbing the yellow beam or black twelve tooth gear. . I don't no if adding an actuator will add much to the fun. Thanks for all the nice comments!
