Basically, a Peanuts film is being produced by Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox, and it will be released on November 6, 2015. The film is directed by Steve Martino and written by Bryan Schulz, Craig Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano. This news on it's own may seem worrying to some people, mainly because the traditional art style of Charles Schulz could have been ruined or the numerous failed movies of old cartoons such as that Yogi Bear film. However, in march a small teaser trailer was unveiled that is simply brilliant.

If you don't fancy watching the trailer (shame on you!) then here's a couple of images from it:

So, what do you think of this news? :classic: Personally I'm excited about this, mainly because Charles Schulz's son and grandson are heavily involved, which should prevent this film from just being another forgettable remake of a classic comic strip (yes, we're looking at you Marmaduke  ).

Really love my comics like Peanuts, Tintin, Asterix. I always felt the original Peanuts shows were really good. Even really liked Flashbeagle! One of my all time favourite Peanuts songs! It felt like the shows and the strip could go together.

But then along came Tintin. Personally I felt that was ruined as a movie. Could hardly watch 30 minutes of it before I had to switch it off.

Asterix did some live action but even that was subpar compared to the books. Though I did like the Cartoon Asterix movies. Especially Asterix and the 12 Tasks.

So I really really hope that this is good. I must admit the trailer looks good. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

As an avid Peanuts fan I am very much looking forward to this! I hope it remains very much in the style and mold of the comics and TV specials.

The animation looks down right stunning. I'm not that big of a Peanuts fan myself, but I'm curious to see the film just for the stellar animation alone.

Loved the Peanuts growing up! They were a regular part of my childhood!

I really hope we get Lego sets and collectable minifigs too!

I love that we are leaving the age where the tv and comics that are rebooted into movies are turned into live-action CGI hybrids. I can't wait to see this!

Yes! Can you imagine if this came out 10 years ago? The cast would all be live-action kids and Snoopy & Woodstock would be CG like in the Scooby movies (only while Snoopy would be somewhat stylized, Woodstock would be a realistic CG sparrow with cartoony eyes)
