The Kaliphlin Medical Corps have been brought into the fight against the plague in Avalonia. They travel between affected villages, distributing much needed supplies such as disinfectant, bandages and healing herbs, as well disseminating vital information about avoiding infection and disposing of the dead. In emergencies, they can also be called into action as makeshift ambulances, ferrying those who still have a chance of survival to the nearest designated hospice. This is when the twin ostrich carts come into their own, proving much faster than their horse drawn counterparts.

The Avalonian lookouts know them well, and always allow them safe passage through the backroads.

Patients who are transported are required by the KMC to wear red bandanas around their mouth and nose, communicating their quarantine status whilst also preventing the spread of disease. Their hands are also bandaged to prevent infected boils from coming in contact with the cart. Needless to say, all carts are thoroughly washed after each patient - Kaliphlin cleanliness demands no less!

I am applying for the following UoP credits for this build: Flowers and dense foliage (Landscape design) and Caravan/shipping by land (Trade and Law).

Thanks for looking, C & c welcome!

Ha ha brilliant! What a great idea and absolutely fantastic use of space! The rocks with overhanging vegetation look superb. Great build.

Great build. Love the rock and tower and ostrich-wagon! Also dig the inclusion of a Chima raven helmet. That is, if it's supposed to represent a medieval/renaissance era plague mask. If so, I had the same idea a while back and was going to do something with it if I'd been assigned to De Gothia's team. Good show either way, Gabe!

I was wondering about the raven head, then I came into the same conclusion as mccoyed did. The ostrich cart and the vegetation on the cliff is a nice one. And the tower. :)

Ah beautiful build!

Really well done. The cart under the guard tower works really well.

Nice, great ostrich carriage and the landscaping and rockwork on the bluff is superb! +1 UoP DoH for all claims

I love the cart, great job!

Gotta love that rock formation! Like the use of ostriches too!

+1 for your claims.

Nicely done. Very interesting idea.

I like the cart and the use of ostriches (don't see them too often).

To be honest, I haven't been able to keep up with the stories in GoH as much as I'd like, so I don't quite know what is going on. But I'd almost want to see another take on this. Maybe having an evil counterpart hijack one of the wagons to "take the backroads" without hassle. Obviously it would raise some question from the guard tower, but it could be a fun little story.

Keep it up with this. I like what I am seeing.

UoP DoH +1 for both claims.

Oh this is just too cool! The rocks are great, and the ostrich cart is a fun detail.

Thanks guys! Yep you got it, the raven head is meant to be a plague mask - doesn't look that great on (eye holes are a bit too wide) so i thought i'd hang it from the wagon instead. :classic:

I like the way you think Lego Dr! Yeah, certainly one would have to worry about a drow raiding party capturing a KMC cart to travel undetected and scout defenses etc, possibly though they wouldn't know the pre-arranged hand signals drivers give to the Avalonian sentries as they pass... suspicion is aroused, cue epic chase sequence, possibly through a town with the drow "patient" in the back throwing pots/pans/plague soaked rags/some kind of magical bomb at pursuers to shake them off...

Yeah, the moc stories here often trail off into dead ends and such, and there are a lot of competing stories as well, it can be a bit confusing! But fun confusing, i think anyway. Thanks for your comment!

Wow! Nice build! Love the cart and ostriches! Nice idea with the plague mask! I was wondering what it was, so I'm glad I saw the comments!:thumbup:

This is marvelous....for such a small footprint, there is a ton packed into here. I also love the ostriches, but the rocks are superb

+1 UoP

Great work on a small footprint. The overhang is ace and I like the touch of purple.

The cliff, cart, and tower all look perfect! +1 on the credits.

Looks great! Love the ostrich wagon.

Fabulous vignette! The rock formation with overhanging green plates looks amazing and the little watchtower fits nicely on top  The cart is excellent as well, I like all the tools you included on the sides

Coolio idea well executed Gabe. Nice disinfection cart xD. Nice angles on the folliage at the rockwork, coolio landscaping in this small category.

Really nice work! Even though it's in Avalonia, this is unmistakably a Kaliphlin scene. The ostriches inexplicably fit this scene really well, and the plague mask is absolute genius. In addition, the rocks and the tower are both perfectly sized, and the overhangs are especially nice.

Such a great idea! Many nice ideas like the raves head for the healers( does it have a name?) to work with. The little tower and of course the purple flowers! Your moc of Lena and de Gothia long time ago made me order purple 1x1 as well!

That cart is just absolutely fabulous and I really got a good laugh out of those ostriches, wonder if you could really put them infront of a little cart.

Cheers deGothia! I can't find a name for the plague hood in particular, but here is a little history of plague medicine and the creation of the iconic plague doctors' outfit (quite late actually, in the 1600's). Glad to hear too that my wedding gift Moc from so long ago made such an impression! (I in turn picked up the purple 1x1 rounds idea from DC, back in the day.. )

Thanks Kabel, glad you like it! Well, if they are anything like emus, probably not...:tongue:

So many details on such a small base!! The tower is very cool!
