Posted June 20, 201410 yr Hi all, thought I'd share these here as I've managed to finish these 2 projects today. Initially started off with the green / silver version, wanting to get the tubular chassis within the body shell. Its there, you just cant see it with the engine in! Anyhow, a colleague of mine at work saw the work in progress pics of it and asked if I could build his car for him, hence the yellow version. He didnt want the removable bonnet and engine details so the models do vary in how they are built. His has a removable nose cone and door pannels, whilst my own version has removable, well just about evrything with all internal detailing hopefully where it should be, so it strips down pretty much like the original car. Both are buildable in the colours pictured, (apart from you cant get yellow 1x2x2 slopes) the light grey has been sprayed metalic silver, I think most of the parts done like that on the yellow version are obtainable in orginal met silver LEGO parts. A white R500 is 100% buildable in obtainable parts and may be another model I do. Link to Flickr album: Cars: They have both been a real joy to build, hope you like them Carl
June 20, 201410 yr I'll repeat my praise here, Carl: These are absolutely gorgeous. Might just be the best LEGO car models I've ever seen. Please build more! It's not that I don't like trains, but I love cars... :)
June 21, 201410 yr Author Thanks for the great comments all L@go, dont worry there will be plenty more cars now I'm bitten, besides which, I've just about done all the locos I ever wanted to, so these are a welcome change that I think are going to be hard to stop with
June 21, 201410 yr Wow!! They are truly a work of art. So much detail. I keep looking and discover a new detaill every time. I like the green/silver one best.
December 6, 201410 yr Any chance of plans existing for this model? Would love to build a version of mine.
December 7, 201410 yr Author I'm afraid not, HOWEVER, these were submitted onto LEGO Ideas a few days ago, so if you would like to see them get a chance of being made as official sets then please support it: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/87703
December 19, 201410 yr I'm speechless... I had to look twice to see that these are Lego.... The amount of details is amazing. Thanks for showing these
