Hi folks,

some weeks ago I already started my newest project. I wanted to add a new vehicle to my Unimog & co. collection.

So to stay with the manufactorer I decided to go for a Zetros...

There are 4x4 and 6x6 versions available. At the moment I'll go for the 4x4 but with a shortened wheelbase and use a fifthwheel trailer.

There'll come in somme 3rd party parts, so purists stop reading here ;)

At the moment I used the 1.9" Mil-Spec ZXL tires, they fit nearly perfect for the scale 1/12.5 - which is the same as 8110.

The trailer decision isn't made yet... Let's see...

Here some pictures of the progress until now.

First some pictures of the frame:

The chassis compared to the 8110:

The next few pictures are the first betas of the cab. In the next days I'll order the parts for the final cab. I won't tell the color right now.

And here are some pictures of the trailer coupling...

And finally some pictures with the added cab...

So, that's all for now.

Hope you like it...

Looks great so far. Not too sure about the colour scheme though but great none the less.

Must admit Zetros isn't a manufacturer I'm familiar with. Time for a spot of Googling me thinks!

Thanks Kuba!

Grum: the color is only a sample and noch the final one... A raw model... The Manufactorer is Mercedes Benz, the same as the Unimog...

Good to hear. It's looking to be a great build, can't wait to see it completed. Thanks for the info, I was just about to look it up.

23:20 - Just finished looking at the website and also Google images. Now I'm familar with the vehicle I have to say I'm even more impressed especially with the cab, you've got it spot on.

Steering it's just wonderful!

Probably the axles look a bit odd.....or just fragile! ANd I would add a third axle IMHO!

Question....tyre diameter is 108 mm???? in case of high torque-...would they slip on the rim or not?

Posted

Thanks...

Hm, maybe fragile ;)

Yes, the diameter is 108mm and they don't slip!!!

I meant the look it's frigile. But yeah such a wonderful piece of art!!! why not all black? with some white minor parts?

Hi folks,

today arrived the last parts. So here's the Zetros in his final color scheme. I hope you like it.

Now I have a lot of detailing to do...

Thanks for your praise...

Tim, yes, that's because of the mounting point of the battery box. I think I'll have to change its position...

Stefan, let's see...

Great colour. Great build.

TIB: Thanks, but I'm not a master at all...

Did some detailing today...

Changed the mounting point of the battery box - so the Zetros won't crank any more...

Some minor changes at the front bumper and fenders. Added doorsteps and tank etc. And finally rear fenders and taillights...

Some more pictures:
