So I'd wait a bit longer before checking in stores...in case it's old stock

I guess they will be put in the newest sets such as 7660, 7661, 7662 and the yet to release Sith Infiltrator set. Lego has put every effort in the newest line and is more or less neglecting the older sets since for them the new line has their top priority.

Lego will discontinue making the 62xx line of sets soon and they already have trouble coping with the demand for those. All I hear is complaints about Lego not being able to supply what has been ordered by the stores. The 6209, 6210 and 6211 are already hard to find in stores, you will still find them occassionally though. The 6210 has been on backorder for a long time at Lego.com and I doubt that more will be made. My guess is that if they can deliver at all, they will only have a small supply of those left. The 62xx sets probably won't make it till Christmas. At that time, the 76xx line has taken over the SW line of products. The Trade Federation MTT will replace the Imperial Star Destroyer, the Jedi Figher with Hyperdrive Booster Ring will either replace the Sail Barge or Slave I and the Naboo Fighter + Sith Infiltrator will replace the B-Wing and Y-Wing. And there will be a new AT-AT, so Lego has a bright future of new sets that they can use for the new gold C-3PO.

That's the same guy who bought it at $250 on ebay :-/

Hopefully more will be found soon, driving prices down *sweet*

Yeah, I figured when I read in a bricklink thread that he bought two...I hope you're right, if they drop down (from $250US) to around $50US or so they'd be affordable enough for everyone to have a crack at. $100US is still kinda pushing it though :-/

I've seen people list rare parts at outrageous prices before (such as the red ghost) because they know that nobody would buy it, so it's a way of attracting attention to the store, and of course to boast |-/

They are available in the AT-ST, Grievous's Starfighter, Imperial Landing Craft, and Y-Wing, aswell as yet-to-be-released sets. In other words all 07 sets except the Clone Trooper Battle Pack and Battle Droid Battle Pack. :)

Thanks, but may I ask where you got that from? Lego themselves is not always extremely reliable...especially if they say that to increase sales of all their sets. I'm just asking because we've had previous confirmation of them only being in SOME of the Summer '07 sets, none of the January ones.

Appreciate it

Info sounds correct (at least as per Lego's description). I also know that the 1st C3PO found (the one in the open bag) is found in an AT-ST (not sure if its the UCS version or the regular version). Its in one of the posts somewhere (either here or FBTB), I can dig it up if you want :-D

Well if you can, I'd appreciate that. so far everything I've heard has been from the CIV event in cali...which in retrospect I should've gone to (I like Star Wars as you can tell :-$ Two-for-one deal X-D )

Ok, here you go! ===> CLICKY

Scroll down and you'll find Gooker1 saying "I emailed the guy and he said he bought the At St at Celebration IV", and I don't think he will lie about something as trivial as this :-)

I'm presuming its a regular AT-ST 7657, but either way, that means its not just limited to the newer sets (which obviously hasn't hit US stores yet).

PS: Didn't someone else post that he found a golden 3PO too when the C4 thread as active?

Thanks for the link, supernova. Yeah, that was in this thread.

If that's true, I don't feel so bad for not having bought the ILC before now, or the ISD if that even qualifies.

This is really making me uneasy, I really would like a complete list of sets that are elegable, and to know how I know when it's safe to start buying them. I.e. if I buy an ILC next month, how will I know if it was old stock, or if it had a chance to get a chrome 3PO?

I think if you buy from places that has a pretty quick turnover rate (e.g. TRU at NY city), you can be quite sure its new stock. And the ILC's a great model! (should get be able to get for cheaper on ebay tho X-D )

Well I live on the island, so the NY TRU is just a train hop away...however it's such a hassle! Might be worth it but...you think they might get a slightly higher rate than say, my local TRU (which also gets a decent turnover rate). I wonder if they give priority on these things

I was in NY in april... TRU sells them for $54.99 + tax (urgh)

But stock gets cleared REALLY quickly, so I suggest you ask call them up and ask when stock comes in so that you won't waste the trip :)

PS: lots of yellow slave leias in build-a-minifig bin at FAOschwarz. 3 for $10! :-)

Wait! They have a build-a-minifig bin there?! I thought that was only in the official stores?! I'm definitely making the trip X-D In a month...when I go home :-/

Heh they do. But very limited in what they have; slave Leia's the only good thing I found. There's also TONS of sandcrawlers/death star II in store at FAO schwarz, price is slightly marked up but if you want one and can't find it elsewhere it should be there :)

But they should all be old stock :)

Hm, well good thing I don't need those sets :-D Thanks for the tip!

Hey,

what is meant with a C4 promotional set?

They are talking about this in the fbtb.net thread..

greetings Hendrik

Hendrik, they're talking about this set, one of our own members was lucky enough to get his hands on one. They were raffled off at CIV, Celebration IV (a Star Wars convention).

Thank you for that information.

So, my next question:

Who wants to sell it to me?

Or: Where can I buy it?

I know, that it is really rare, but I need to own one..(-;

Wow, I have not been on this site in a long time. At any rate I had to respond to this as I was at CIV in LA. I did have the chance to pull a raffle ticket on one of those days to purchase one of these limited sets. Sadly I did not win.

However, I did have the time of my life there and plenty of people selling older sealed Star Wars sets. In fact, even the LEGO booth had some older discontinued sets. Plus I had the chance to see the new models up close and personal(video taped it too), including the new MF.

Anyway, CIV was the place to be for any kind of Star Wars fan.

I can, but you have to remember that these are quite short (20sec.) or so. I did not get much time there due to the amount of people and the lack of a steady hand. Any particular place that I can upload the videos to that fellow EBers can watch? Thanks.

So what sets are they in?? Are they in like grevious starfighter and at st and battle packs?

No battle packs, though there's debate going on over whether they're in just the summer '07 sets, or also the jan '07 sets.
