June 29, 201410 yr Performance looks great. Does the internal protection of the battery boxes ever kick in with this setup? Perhaps not on the low-friction surface you're using, but what about outdoors or if you encounter an obstacle?
June 29, 201410 yr Author i'm using the V2 recivers so i don't think it will kick in anyway as it's really low it's not made to run on obstacles :P i think i'll bring it on some soil just to make some dust while drifting lol
June 29, 201410 yr Hey this is a really cool project! Really powerful, I wonder how it would run on an outdoor mini rally course? ;) Since there's a few rally cars being built at the moment I think I'm gonna make an Audi Quattro or a Ford Escort mk2...
June 29, 201410 yr Author we should make a "rally collection" or maybe a contest as long as everyone use the new wheels wich are perfect for rally cars so all of them will be aproximately in the same scale Edited June 29, 201410 yr by piterx
June 29, 201410 yr Hahahah, I'm only using an xl motor for drive so I'm pretty sure I won't be going as fast as you. Is it worth getting the new tires btw? I have to use 56x26 tires. edit: I watched your chassis test vid, it's insane! Edited June 29, 201410 yr by MrNumbskull13
July 3, 201410 yr Author update :P while im quite happy with the rear part of it im not so happy with the doors that don't look like the real ones... i still need to add the hood and front lights... the only problem is that it won't be openable and lights should be opened separately hope you like it!
July 3, 201410 yr Hot damn; that bodywork Love the integration with the battery box at the rear; I'm curious to see how you'll manage the low front.
July 3, 201410 yr So far, the front looks very good! So does the rest of the car! Looking forward to seeing the finished product, along with a video!
July 3, 201410 yr Low enough to make the car fly with 2xLiPo and 2x RC-Motor . @ Piterx: if in need for more space in the front for one of the batteryboxes, you could try to use the suspension parts of the new 42021 Snow Scooter. Those are much shorter and will leave you eventually more space between the wheels. The parts from the Extreme Cruiser and/or 8858 Rebel Wrecker probably also work fine.
July 3, 201410 yr Author thank you really ,much guys! weight is 720g now, i think it won't go higher than 800 once finished, it still drifts nicely :D Low enough to make the car fly with 2xLiPo and 2x RC-Motor . @ Piterx: if in need for more space in the front for one of the batteryboxes, you could try to use the suspension parts of the new 42021 Snow Scooter. July 3, 201410 yr Looks really good so far. Can't wait to see it completed. One last thing. Man, you build quick!!!
July 3, 201410 yr As you said the wheels are perfect and the rest of the car is awesome too, it will be faster and nice a must have MOC.
July 3, 201410 yr Author ahah yeah at the moment it still looks as a f40 xD i need to work a little bit more on the front eheh thanks guys!
July 3, 201410 yr Looking great so far, as every model of yours. One question: Where do you get the springs you use in the front suspension (and you also used for the panda, i think)? Are these original Lego?
July 3, 201410 yr That back is gorgeous! I was excited that you were tackling this project but worried that it wouldn't work out since the Stratos has such a complex shape, but this is outstanding.
July 4, 201410 yr ahah yeah at the moment it still looks as a f40 xD i need to work a little bit more on the front eheh thanks guys! Well Stratos will never look as Ferrari - they only shared their engines :) :) Returnig to your MOC, looks great and the speed and handleling are awsome ! Just small point of view - can you offset the rear wheels ? They look like they are pushed to far inside the chassis. If you look at the original Stratos - you will notice that they even are coming our side of the main body - and protectors were created to "capture" them in the overall chassis :) Regards
August 20, 201410 yr Author this project is not dead :D im building the hood really slowly as i have stuff to do these months but i'll complete it :) frontlights can be opened and closed the only thing that i can't make it work yet is that plate in front of the hood, i don't know how to attach it :\ hope you'll like it
August 20, 201410 yr It's good to hear that it's not dead, and it looks like it's coming along great! My only question is, will the battery stick out like this from the hood?
