MassEditor Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Senurhem leads the parties to a table prepared for a feast, where their eyes light up at the sight of the spread. Tasters from each of the factions sampled the food to ensure it had not been poisoned. When it became clear the food was safe, the aides were dismissed and the leaders of the various parties sat down to eat. Conversation was light throughout the meal, though Senurhem rambled continuously about his fortress while Raavage recounted tales of treachery by the Nocturnian resistance. Few listened however, as the break did little more than allow each commander to stew on his own thoughts. Anzar rarely took his eyes off the Zugal leaders, Korrak and Rokkar. They had made no secret of their elation after capturing Dragon's Keep and the spoils kept within. At one point Korrak stood up and retrieved a wine bottle from his pack, offering everyone at the table a glass. On the bottle, beautifully etched into the side, was the royal symbol of the Dragon Masters, clearly retrieved from Dragon Keep. He had kept control of himself throughout the negotiation but at that moment Anzar could no longer suppress his rage. Anzar: How dare you parade around my father's possessions as if they were truly yours! Do not get too comfortable in those halls for you will not enjoy them long Anzar locked eyes with Korrak. Seeing the threat in the Dragon’s eyes, Rokkar jumped up and grabbed the hilt of his sword. Rokkar: Your weakness on the field of battle proves you are not worthy of more than you can carry on your back, dragon pup! We invite you to retake the musty dungeon you called your home, at least then you can regain some of your honor in death. I assume however it will be your brother alone who will have the courage to try, but he too will be sent running with his tail between his legs! Anzar could take no more. His head swirled in rage and confusion. In the last few days he had lost his father, his ancestral home and many of his men. But now the Ravens called into question his honor, at this point all that Anzar had left. “No”, he thought, he would hold on to that and put the Ravens back in their place. He drew his sword but Senurhem's guards were quicker however and pulled Anzar back. Korrak laughed and shook his head. Korrak: Where was this ferocity during the battle for your home? Instead I saw your men fall leaderless in battle, as if you had left them to die for your own mistakes. I almost felt sorry for them as we crushed them. Senurhem's guards restrain Anzar, as he turns to Raavage. Anzar: The Dragon Masters will have no part to play in your foul plots as long as you allow these parasite-ridden pigeons to squat in our home! I would rather see your alliance shattered than provide it with the slightest assistance! You seek friends only to make them slaves later. The Dragon Masters will wipe the Zugal from our lands, but only if you have not done so first Raavage! Anzar's words leave Raavage speechless. He had not expected such an outburst from the young Dragon Master. For all his inexperience and lack of access to the Spire's inner circle, Anzar had laid out part of Raavage's plans right then and there, bare for everyone in the room to see. Ravage watches as the realization spreads to each commander. Rokkar had harbored deep suspicions against Raavage since the incident with Prilo in the Eyrie. Raavage would use them for his own goals and then crush them when they were no longer needed. Much like his Dragon foe, Rokkar knows maintaining the charade has passed Rokkar: The Dragon Master is fool, but he is right. I see it in your eyes! Fury rages inside Raavage and he is sickened by the faces now staring at him. He knew chances were slim of allying all the factions for an assault on Abyssian, but now he sees every alliance falling apart. Once he succeeded in raising an undead army, no one would be left standing to oppose his power. He controlled the Hand and did not need these pitiful leaders to help him. If they wanted to hear the truth, they could have it. Anything they would do now to stop him would only delay the inevitable. Raavage: You cowards, each and every one of you. If only you had had the courage to march on to Abyssian, I would have destroyed what was left of you right then. Now you will have to see your lands and your people suffer. If you are not with me, you are against me. With Raavage's declaration dozens of Hand soldiers burst through the doors and descended on the dining hall. Senurhem's men appear to be in league with Raavage as Covenant guards surround the party. Senurhem lets out a long, raspy laugh then speaks. Senurhem: This is no way to treat your host, gentlemen. Your companions did not like the prospect of slavery, and had to be put down. Shall you spare our blades another coat of blood, or shall you die as disgracefully as they did? Anzar draws his sword as Senurhem and Raavage's soldiers approach. Anzar: Senurhem! Raavage! You scum, this was just a trap after all! The walls will be covered with the blood of your men before you finish me! The Hand and Covenant soldiers form a circle around Anzar and the others. With sword in hand, he begins to back up and bumps into something hard. He quickly turns his head to see Korrak standing behind him and facing off against a group of Hand soldiers. Korrak: Well dragon pup it seems as if you have found some of your honor, I hope it will serve you well, as this will be the last chance for any of us to show it! If we survive this, we can continue our feud then. For now, I hope to slay more of these pathetic soldiers, but I need someone protecting my back. You will have to do. Anzar looks around to see what had become of Zurn and Basil. They were no were to be seen. “Typical,” he thought, they had slinked away before the battle started and had probably aided Raavage in this trap. Another wave of Raavage’s men press the battle while Korrak, Rokkar and Anzar battle for their lives. He is so tired now that Anzar can hardly raise his sword. He notices Rokkar has suffered an injury, blood is dripping on the floor. He looks up to see a monstrous Hand soldier, over seven feet tall, his face is cruel and he wields a large mace. He knows this is the end. A lifetime of moments race through Anzar's mind. He knows he hasn't lived up to his people's warrior code, but if he did not live with complete honor, at least he could die with it. The soldier prepares to swing his mace he lets out a horrifying groan. To his amazement, Anzar sees a black blade pierce through the soldier’s armor followed by a flash of white light blinding Korrak, Rokkar and Anzar. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And, just for fun, a pic of the wait staff at Lagash Ur! About this MOC: This is the second part of the unfolding events at Lagash Ur, which takes place right after the epic collab presentation put together by ZCerberus and Torgar that details the fracturing of the Black Spire alliance. Sorry for the cliffhanger here, but don't worry, there's more to come soon! You'll definitely want to keep an eye out for Nocturnus these days as I know both Z and T have some epic stuff in the works. For Part I of this story please see here! If you were living under a rock at the time and missed T and Z's awesome collab presentation, or just need a refresher on current events, please start here! Edited July 24, 2014 by MassEditor Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Damn Mass, yet another awesome MOC! I am literally on tenterhooks (not literally, that might hurt) waiting for the end of this story! It is the official dish of Nocturnus! Quote
Scaevola Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Excellent work with this MassEditor. Great story as well, and I like the selection of food (especially the alligator with the apple in its mouth ). I can't wait for more, also due to my thorough detestation of cliffhangers! Quote

The crocodile and the wait staff are my favorite details here I have to admit that Nocturnus is the unchallenged leader of story-writing in GoH atm! Edited July 12, 2014 by Gideon Quote
Gabe Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 A top notch build and an awesome storyline to go with it too! I love how tall and forbidding your interior spaces are, it makes the perfect foil for all the drama going on. Quote
