July 10, 201410 yr Author I do not know what I would say if I saw a Galaxy Explorer in a LEGO Store. (in Lego store 23) That's supposed to be a Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! - but feel free to dream about finding a Galaxy Explorer :)
July 11, 201410 yr This is a really beautiful store and you have captured the essence of the official set very well, nice job!
July 13, 201410 yr A lovely MOC! Well done. I guess the LEGO Brand Retails Store is a very inspiring set. I was inspired by this set similarly as you were - I based my latest MOC Lego Store and Appartment on this promotional set. Although we both worked on a minifig scale, I really enjoyed seeing your model, as we were inspired in different ways. Your PAB wall looks great, and more realistic as well. The included minimodels look great in the store, specially the Simpsons house and Sea cow. They really add a nice detail to the store. I wonder how your display with this lovely corner building looks like.
July 13, 201410 yr Very nice! I've been dying to get my hands on those sets (for a good price), but your modular interpretation is nothing short of awesome. Your PAB wall is pretty good too. Cheers!
July 14, 201410 yr Great build. It is so recognizable! The details like the miniature models and the PAB wall really make it work. Cool stuff.
July 14, 201410 yr Author Thanks again, people - I really appreciate all the encouraging comments. Makes me want to build more! I wonder how your display with this lovely corner building looks like. I've got pictures of my (4x3 32x32 baseplate sized) city block that I displayed at the Norwegian LUG event in Trondheim in April, but I haven't uploaded them anywhere yet. I'll let you know :)
July 15, 201410 yr This is completely awesome! All the details are amazing! I have to say that the bench out back is a great addition and you don't see many areas like that. In MOCs Absolutely stunning!
July 15, 201410 yr Love this! I was inspired to do my own knockoff of what you've done, but I can't seem to sort out how you accomplished the shelves. Anyway, keep up the good work!
July 15, 201410 yr Author Love this! I was inspired to do my own knockoff of what you've done, but I can't seem to sort out how you accomplished the shelves. Anyway, keep up the good work! Thank you! The shelves are just as simple as they seem - they are built from plates and tiles. The sets that aren't built studs-up aren't attached to the shelves - they're attached to the wall. Hope that helps you.
August 1, 201410 yr Awesome. Love the details. Ironically, the more boring detail of the rear of the store is my favorite. You got the look right and it makes this MOC feel complete. Reminds me of a shipping outlet I worked at. Simple rear door with one light overhead, a small bench, and a plain white wall. A place to hang out while on break time to eat a snack, read a book, or talk on your personal phone (or smoke for one of my co-workers).
August 2, 201410 yr This is a great MOC! The models I can recognise are the Metalbeard's Sea Cow, Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP, The Simpsons House and a Star Wars Naboo Fighter?
August 3, 201410 yr Author Thanks again for the kind words, I'm glad you like this MOC. It's sitting on the table in front of me at the moment, enjoying its time in the limelight :) Is possible to know the brick list of this set? I'll see what I can do. Ironically, the more boring detail of the rear of the store is my favorite. To each his own - time and effort went into getting that detail right, too, so I don't mind that you enjoy the 'boring' bits :) This is a great MOC! The models I can recognise are the Metalbeard's Sea Cow, Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP, The Simpsons House and a Star Wars Naboo Fighter? Yes, there's also a UCS R2-D2 and a Millennium Falcon in the front left window. The Naboo fighter is a miniature model from one of the Star Wars advent calendars, so that's not my design.
